Will's Frag tank build

Coming together excellently Will! As always, nice seeing you yesterday! I wasn't surprised for a second, by the way, when you said you won that Acan Lord. :D

progress

So added leveling feet to bottom

Changed supports for Frag tank to directly under 2X4's

Added access panels both sides - will finish these with trim

Picture shows Sump and frag tank in place....Need black foam for under all tanks and sump

Need to come up with some way to build up to canopy, or just hang lights from ceiling

Still thinking about Bio pellets or not

Need to build in Reefkeeper - Note I added float switch mount for ATO and mount for probes to sump

What am I missing?

Major update

So I got busy the last couple of days, pictures will be in order. But bottom line it is running to test for leaks all night tonight :a30:

Doors then paint, then running with inlet side and drain side, then sump.

The one picture shows a 15 gallon on top so you get the idea, but it is 12X12X24 and acrylic tank I have is 10X10X24

Should be running with proper water and RKL by the weekend

Stay away from Biopellets... That small system with that nice 10gal refuge and powerful skimmer, no need for it IMO..

Old fashioned water changes, carbon and maybe GFO if needed the tank will run great ;)

Will, you might consider putting a small powerhead in your water storage container. I found my 15g vessel was getting a little stinky even with the ato running out of it and rodi going in. Once I added the PH it fixed it right up. Looks good!

yep, I am actually thinking air stone

Would work but louder and could potentially siphon on you. Easily fixed with a loop of course but I got this little guyhttp://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+4587+23729&pcatid=23729 and it's completely silent and the magnet makes sure it isn't going anywhere. I thought I had heard that air stones of the wrong type can cause problems long term (leaching silica or pH maybe?) But I could be thinking of something else. Oh and check out my DIY gravity fed ATO if you are putting your vessel higher than your sump/tank. Ok, enough unsolicited suggestions from me. If you need a 1/4 inch OD bulkhead for rodi push fittings let me know, I have a couple extra.
