It's great to ask questions about our LFS. We'll also keep them respectful while giving honest feedback. For anyone helping support this forum, for us all to enjoy, we'll be kind to them no matter what part of ChicagoReefs the thread is posted.

I just mentioned Advanced as he was coming from Beecher....Xzotic is worth the drive to see what it is like especially on a saturday as they have drawings if you spend 25.00. Good place for clean up crew and frozen food and see if you can hit 25.00.
I guess we are lucky in that area because there are many places to choose from if you are in that area. So if you come from Beecher plan accordingly.

BTW they had a 60g cube tank and stand for 199. last year----wonder who on this site got one of those deals...?
 
Yeah the closest places I have to me is Aquatica, Robs Aquatics and reef city. I usually go see Mario but I want to see what else is out there

Maybe that's what your thread should have been....how to plan a trip up here....lol. But I have been to all of the place you go to-----just not Rob's....When I go to Aquatica----I head back and hit Chucks BBQ---that place is awesome.

Agree. Chucks had the best bbq around. Beef brisket is amazing
 
I have their app on my phone and got a message that bubble tips for 19.00 I called to see if they still had any at around 2:00
I was told that the ""special "was from 9-11 I respect that. So then I asked if they had any left and was told they did. So what price did they quote me??
42.00 I am sticking with my other shops from here on out.
 
Imo overall good, some of their set ups/displays are in poor taste, but thats just my opinion, namely the freshwater tank in the back w the gars & turtle ....

Those r the bigger tattoed guys personal fish i think the turtle is pretty cool lol . Last time i went there the selection was bad wasnt mnay different fish just a bunch of the same kind coral tank was completly empty not much to look at at all idk what goin on with that place but saw some personal text the owner sent out to a ex employee and i wont be going back to the place that much i can tell u
