Cannot BELIEVE how cheap it is. We're picking it up Saturday since it's on a national backorder and only Bollingbrook and Oak Lawn have it in stock and don't want to miss out, lol.
 
Also, this room will be painted teal along the wall with the big picture window and the shared wall with the dinette (the room behind the half wall). The first picture is from the front door looking into the room if that helps.
 
Just picked up a 3 year old Samsung fridge, and a washer and dryer that were less than 3 years old, all for less than a grand. I LOVE craigslist.

so your tank build is going to be a fridge, washer and dryer! can't wait for that build thread!
 
This build is my house, which is why it's in the lounge and not member's section, lol.

Although the wife said I could get one of those fish tank coffee tables :) I can use that for my small fish that my lionfish would otherwise gobble up!!
 
Found a new flooring stapler on sale for $50!

Appraisal came back over 7k more than our contract price, and said the house was in good condition, so here's hoping we still close next week!
 
Ok closed Friday!! Been working non stop since, and am calling it early tonight, lol.

So, because our lenders forced us to wait a week, we saved almost 3k at closing, so we are hiring people to come do the hard stuff! That means I won't have to put flooring down, strip wallpaper, or paint!

I have some before pics I can post, but the work is too hectic to worry about taking photos along the way, especially cause right now all we're doing is cleaning like crazy (house has been vacant for 8 months, and is FILTHY).

I'll keep you all updated, cause I know you're all waiting on baited breath ;)

Good news is, we'll be moved in and done by Christmas!
 
Day 4 of renovations. A lot of cleaning is done. Did a lot of work in the crawl space to clean it out a ton and get some insulation to cover the ducts that are currently wide open and heating the crawl space, lol.

Flooring is going in quickly. Basement is almost done except the trim. Painter will be in tomorrow to start getting down the wallpaper and get some color up. Hardwood should start tomorrow or the day after.

Floor in the basement is ALMOST done. Just gotta put it the last row and trim. Basement should be painted by the morning.

Wallpaper should be down by the morning too, and then the painters can REALLY get to work.

Upstairs is about half done with hardwood. Should be almost done by tonight and trim will go up tomorrow. Now we just have to fully clean the kitchen, bathroom, and one more bedroom, and then the fun can REALLY begin as we move in!

Basement is a lighter floor because it gets VERY little natural light, but the upstairs has a giant picture window and a patio door that shines onto it, so it'll be nice and bright.
 
So how close are you to 6 and 51 in Hobart? We moved here 11/19/2012 a little over a month ago. I'm about 8 minutes from Menards/Lowes in Portage!
