man, dinos suck....i had to fight those over a year ago in my old 34g...since you already took all your sand out (and that is where most of them retreat to at night time), i would suggest you get a pond sterilizer rated at 55w and run it at night time...you notice how they "go away" at night and come back an hour or so after lights come on? that's them going into your water column and that is the best time to zap them...get the UV, do a 3 day blackout and if you're lucky, you're done with them for good...sometimes, though, you need to really kick them in the nuts by going dirty for a few weeks - raise nutrients, dose pods, and dose phyto which sounds like is what you are already doing...they simply don't do well competing for nutrients...in fact, i'm sure the reason you got them was because you went too clean...dose the pods/phyto and don't do any water changes until you see coralline start to take hold again and other algaes, especially hair, take a foothold...good luck man but don't worry, that stuff can be beat!

See the weird thing is its only in my 30. My 93 is completely fine. How is that even possible? Something in the 93 eating it?

You could probably just take out the rocks and scrub the bubble algae using a toothbrush with peroxide. Just be careful not to get peroxide on the corals. Then a quick swish in old aquarium water because the busted bubbles are going to leak spores.

I did this for a rock encrusted with a lepto and one with a cyphastrea.

Im just going to buy another rabbit for the 30. The one in the 93 ate all the bubble algae and keeps it from coming back

Still signs of dinos but only on one frag (my favorite one of course) and on the overflow. No signs anywhere else in the system.

Going dirty. Skimmer has been off since idk when. Enough reef chilli added to feed the great barrier reef. Feeding just as much as normal. Hell im not even cleaning the glass right now.

My new light mount should ve finished up today. If not then early next week. Then to powder coat it and mount it.

Once the lighting mount is finished then we move on to phase 3 of my plan. RODI! BY SUMMER ILL BE RUNNING RODI! I hope.

Im not going to get excited yet.

With that said. There was no bubbles on the overflow yesterday at all (theres a rw4 on 100% blasting across it) there was bubbles on my lepcon beard. So before i left for work yesterday i fw dipped my lepcon and this morning theres nothing on it or the overflow.

The skimmer has been off for quite some time so im sure the nutrients are getting up there, but i dont care. May even run without the skimmer.

Most coral have great polyp extension. Some have damage from the alk spike but oh well nothing is getting worse.... other than a few pieces but if i lose them then they were weak and its survival of the fittest in my tank.

Corals that have died/dying
Crazy bananas- polyps are out but pealing away.

Colors are looking pretty crappy but shouldnt be much longer until my t5s are online. Waiting on new bulbs to come in.

With the hell ive put my tanks through the past couple weeks im actually okay with how everything is looking. My tenuis's (not sure the correct gramar here) are looking good, my efflo is okay other than alk burnt tips, my pearly cadaver not only is coloring up but it actually has polyps (i was convinced it didnt even have polyps), my new elegance is happy, fish are fat and happy

Sorry to see you corals took such a hit. Did the final do the damage or did the peroxide to treat them do the damage? Some of those burnt tips look like what I experienced after trying peroxide briefly.

It couldve been some to do with the peroxide, but i think the majority was the alk swing from 7.7 up to 10.3

In my experience, alk swings cause STN/RTN, but your corals look like they are burned (not losing tissue in big patches like STN).

There were some that did like the crazy bananas and the trash compactor but yeah the others are burnt

IME peroxide just browns out corals...when i was fighting dinos a while back in a fit of drunken rage, i poured a bunch of peroxide into a cup and turkey basted a bunch of acros that had dino strings on them...it didn't outright kill the acros but it did turn them brown almost instantaneously...after that i vowed never to treat my tank of anything again while drinking

You shouldve fw dipped them lol. All the frags with dinos got fw dipped and none have shown back up. Also heard they hate high flow and since they only grew on my overflow thwn i pointed a powerhead. No bubles anywhere in the tank. Are they gone? Dead? Idk but i dont see the bubbles. Guess we will find out when i eventually do a waterchange

i accidentally fw dipped 2 montis this past weekend when i was scrubbing some algae off the plugs...i dropped them both into a cup of semi cold water...they are stressed af but they didn't RTN/STN so i'm hoping the recover...i'm not sure if acros can take fw dips that well either?

i wouldn't do a water change until you start seeing some coralline growing at least and maybe some other algaes like gha or film algae on your glass...you gotta let the other algaes get a foothold before you start limiting nutrients again or dinos will just take over again...without the bubbles it does sound like they are on the way out - they are no longer photosynthesizing

I fw dipped 2 of mine. The first on rtn from the alk spike the 2nd is pissed but recovering nicely.

Ive got plenty of film algae lol but i plan to hold off on the waterchange for awhile anyway

Stop dosing Sodium Nitrate (If you did), change water 20-25% next 5 days...all the brown tips will be back soon..I got problem last month, now all happy come back...

Thinking about doing a full reboot. Complete shutdown. Dipping all coral and starting fresh. Barebottom both tanks. Acid washing all the rocks/ new rocks. Bleaching the entire system. Basically taking the entire system apart and fix everything about it
