Any gear heads on CR?

I think the guy with the car wash (sorry don't remember your name) should host a car show / tank show off this spring!

I agree. Not sure how to incorporate the tank thing but it would be cool just to get together sometime like that and go for a cruise if we had enough interested people. Could take a cruise to a few LFS along the way. Too bad my truck wont be ready to go until next fall or spring of 2014. Probably a good thing though cause its really loud and would probably get pulled over unless the cops appreciate the coolness of it.

More or less open it to the public as well. Could make a flyer and send it out to car forums. Add the tank in the flyer as an attraction to come see. Sounds like great publicity for him.

The cops shouldn't bug you much during the day for your exhaust. A buddy of mine who lives in Lombard has an old dodge pickup with straight pipes coming up two stacks. Everyone calls it ting ting because he has metal caps on hinges on the stacks. ANNOYING AS HELL! Lol

haha ting ting. I will have to keep my eye out for it. I am putting electric cut-outs on my exhaust right after the collector on the headers. But even running it through two flowmaster pro series mufflers it is still really loud (hard to even talk to someone next to it).

Ok, picture of my 914.

I never looked too much into these types of vehicles but is this one rear wheel drive or front wheel drive? Looks like it would be a fun car to go cruising in during the summer.

What can I say, I'm a Ford guy. But I like to look at old and new muscle. Anyone into diesels? When I graduate from pharmacy school a F350 diesel is going to be my first big purchase and its going to smoke black! haha

My excursion is diesel. 6.0, i know about the reputation... Its mostly undeserved. Lots of work to be done! Fixing all the current problems, then on to upgrades! Most of the things i fix I'll upgrade instead of just fixing. Like the tires i just replaced, stepped up a size, and got new good shocks.

My 2011 Camaro LS is my project. i got this car for graduation and i felt like Sam Widwiki for the first week of owning it. lol. I'm curently moding my car with sidestripes, center stripes, painted interior, steering wheel and seat covers, silver chevy emblems, tinted front and rear lights, and cold air intake. future mods are tinted windows, cat back exhaust, led head lights, kicker 15" subs leather seats, body kit, and rims.View attachment 10092View attachment 10093

ya i kno, but im only 19 and thats the cheapest most loud sounding subs i can get. In the future, i hope to get a better system tho.

I can help. What's the budget? I used to be an audiophile. Believe me when I say there is better stuff out there at the same or cheaper price. Some of the sound places are so full of it you wouldn't believe. A place had my buddies 2. 15" subs running off a 22 gauge wire, that's super skinny and of course unable to feed an amplifier. He wondered why his 2 15" were not as loud as my 10" sub at the time.....

Underdrive pulley?

Indeed. And I forgot but the transplant wasn't a full engine. I kept my teksid block put forged rods and pistons in it. Aluminum teksid block is awesome at holding insane power. 97 compression and under drive pulleys = over 550 HP to the wheels
