Just curious how many of you are using them on ur reefs? I've been wanting one for a while incase of a power outage.

I just borrowed my dads while i was out of town incase anything happened i kept one of my mp10s plugged into it.

Here's what i used. Now this is used and not sure hold old it is but i was impressed with the results for being a base model from APC

It ran my mp10 on reefcrest for an hour and 2 minutes before it started giving the warning beep of low battery. After a hour and 8 mins i couldn't take the beeping anymore and unplugged it lol.

Do you guys have recommendations for backups? Nice to see that a 50$ back up can keep ur tank circulating for over an hour.

Joe, I set up a deep cycle battery with trickle charger to power my MP40. Worked a lot longer than stock Vortech Battery Back up & perfectly.
I'm now using the same battery to power my WP40.

I have 2 Deep cycle battery & not long ago I put up 1 for sale (Deep cycle battery & charger). It is still available & comes with warranty in case you are interested.

was thinking same but i went one step farther i just picked up solar power battery charger today so even if no power the battery will charge as long as there some sun . Its my next diy prodject

I went the old school way and have a gas powered generator,,,can run my tank, refridgerator, tv etc...
never having to worry about power loss =priceless

yeah my dad has one but in order for ur generator to be on u have to be there where power goes out. Which is why backups are awesome. They automatically turn on.

I have an AGM car jump starter that has a AC outlet on it that runs my mp10 for about 3 days on average, I have 2 1812 genesis batteries to run a second, and a ecotech backup for when the AGM inverter dies. Have been thinking about picking up some more 1812 pure leads
