As promised here is an update. Like i said the cycle came and went in 7 days moved my clowns into the tank right after that. Then acclimated my inverts to the new tank water tiger sand conch cleaner shrimp red fromia star snails and hermits. Then dipped all my corals with CoralRx. The ones that i was able to clean of any hair algae then were placed in my new tank. After that i aquired a Pearly jawfish from Walt. He instantly started building burrows all around the tank until he found the one he liked. Then i found a good deal on a Randalls goby and Candycane Pistol shrimp pair so the went in next along with what is either a bicolor blenny or a flametail blenny. Just last week i got a Yellow coris wrasse and a melanarus wrasse from a fellow reefer both have been well behaved but im concerned with the size of the melanarus and the size of my tank. I will keep a watchful eye and if he shows any signs of stress or agression i will move him to the wife's 75 gallon beast tank upstairs. The one big issue is i had to take my wifes Bubblegum BTA split to facilitate her upgrade. It was fine eating well staying in one spot and then it started moving and one day i came home from work and it was gone. The only thing i can think of is it sucked itself inside a rock which ive heard is bad because they can die in there and decompose and cause a big spike in water perams. What do you all think? Also i have gotten some more zoa and sps corals. My Bubble Magus NAC 3.5 skimmer from my 40b is working overtime and i need to upgrade it very soon. Im looking at the SWC 160 the Bubble Magus NAC 5.5 cone and then there is a skimmer from scaquariums that looks like a BM NAC 7 clone just slightly smaller and its at least half the price of the other two. Any input in this area would be great. My skimmer compartment is 11.5"x7.5" and has 12" of water depth and i can build a platform for the skimmer if it needs less water height. Recommendations are greatly appreciated.
And here's some pics for everybody.
