Caragol has arrived!

Welcome to CR! Having an extra pump to run Chaeto seems excessive. Maybe try putting it in a bag or in display. Other macro algae does a great job with nutrient reduction. Id be happy to send ya a few snips.

Might do it in the display, but my display is tiny and I don't want to take a lot of room. I was thinking of pumping into a reactor for chaeto, then gfo, then carbon, then back to the tank, so no extra pumps, just one for multiple reactors. Still, maybe that's a silly idea... maybe I could throw a bag into an HOB Aquaclear filter I have with a little LED light? That keeps it out of the display... I've heard of nanoreefers turning them into tiny fuge systems.

What's a good bag to put macro in so that it's well contained and I'm not pulling it off the rocks later?

You could buy a hang on quarantine or specimin container. It will keep your pods protected from fish. Allowing them to reproduce easier. I've seen many cool hob refugiums as well. I have blue octodes in every corner. It looks cool, but is harder to remove than u think. :banghead:

welcome.... hope you dont get banned from the other place, it helps when you have to buy or sell something! i wish i could still be there just for that. This community rocks! and very active! (well everyone but me!, i need to step it up. )

Pics will come as I build things out... I'm hoping the stand will be cool. I opted to not build doors, but instead my plan is to have wooden panels attached with magnets that I can pull away as needed. I'll post pics as I go.

Stand built... waiting for it to come inside and start filling it with water, sand and rocks before starting a build thread. That may be tonight. Still hedging on which lighting to purchase. Can decide between PAR38 bulbs that are not dimmable, but look cool, or the chinese LED lights which is dimmable, brighter, and cheaper, but I'm not sure how to hang and avoid light overspill.

What are the dimensions of the tank again ??
