Caragol has arrived!

Pics of build on my camera still :). Not sure I'm happy with the flat black I went with on the stand. Choices at Menards were flat or high gloss, and I decided flat was better since the wood I'm working with is not perfect. Should have gone semi-gloss... will have to see what it looks like inside.

Yeah I have a stand build here I went with highend wood and really helped out with the selection of stain because I didn't have to hid imperfections.

High gloss will make every imperfection shiny. And this is low-end wood, mostly what I had on hand and all pine. Flat will hide it all, but now it looks like a homemade speaker for a garage band. Need that inbetween, but also don't want to wait another day to get this thing cycling. Maybe cycle in a rubbermaid and get the stain right. Will have to see how it looks inside first.

Depending on your paint you could try a spray on satin finish. Hides well and has a sheen but not so much... if that makes any sense.

Makes sense... I have most of a can of Krylon Fusion in black satin that I used used to paint the glass of the back of the tank. Considered that. The family room is not well lit anyhow... Will just have to see in full light.
