Centerpiece fish

Filbert is a fahaka puffer from Africa's Nile River.

I've got a 2 x 90s, 46g bowfront, 125g, 45g cube, 20g, 10g hex.

Wow! That must be a lot of work!! Kudos to you!

I thought that was a freshwater tank he was hanging in. Or is it brackish? I was thinking of doing a brackish tank with those little puffers. They're so cute. I need to do some more research though before I take the plunge. They'd either go in my room, or the kitchen.

Son of a gun! Those 2 fishes are too awesome eric? Just got a question.. do u thnk the choati wrasse will do ok in a 40 gallon

Thanks, and No. Mine does laps in a 70g deep. I wouldn't recommend anything smaller than what I have. They are very finicky and should be left to advanced aquarists. Others here (that are not new to the nobby) have tried them and lost them.

That Choati pic is from last year. She's a bit bigger and her pattern has come in more.

Thanks! He's a bit of a bully and is territorial. Gets along fine with all the wrasses and clowns, but hates firefish (lost helfrichis due to him) and he chases the chromis into the rock work.

thanks eric :) i heard they can be a little tough to keep lol i'll just stick to another type of wrasse.lol

Seriously i gotta check out ur tank sometime..

George, let's see a pic of your sweetlips....wait....that didnt sound right... lol

LOL! Uhm, he just looks like every other juvie spotted sweetlips. Is getting close to borderline where he should start changing to adult coloration.

You can see him in the bottom right of my FTS posted earlier in the thread.

Definitely a great addition to a large tank, even small they need LOTS of room to forage, even thou they move kinds slow and look like they would be ok in a smaller tank. They grow INSANELY fast, mine has put on over an inch of body size in less than 3 months.

Poidog, what type of fish is the 2nd one?

Borbonius Anthias

Deepwater fish that's collection seasonal to the winter months. DD just had one last night for $350. Looks like they've had it for quite a few months as it was a large as mine is.

I'll attest to choati being difficult. I got one, went into sand bed after 20 secs. To never been seen again. I think my mystery picked on it bc I NEVER saw it again. =( and Poidogs borb is awesome. Nice and big.... I will be getting one when the price isn't ridiculous like DD's... And I'll prob try another choati when I get my 137 up. Maybe add him first so it can settle in. Was sad to lose bc it had such a nice coloration.

crooks, you've covered the gambit....I guess mine are my red sea sailfin Tang and my Chevron Tang. would love to have a lineatus or a flame wrasee, but I'll need to get rid of my yellowfin fairy, he's a bastard.

Gig I thought I showed restraint by not putting any clown pics up.

I have a few more wrasses to get but also need to get rid of a whip fin first.
