Chgoblknazn's Tank Build Thread

3 of those on your 29? Are you going for face melting ark of the covenant style? Congrats!

The other module still needs to be sent away to CoralVue to fix the entire A channel LEDS. I didn't want to send it off while my corals are finally settled and encrusting so I bought this unit to use while the other is in Louisiana for a week or two. It's only money, man!!

I'll have 3 of these babies above the tank so hopefully the koral kiddies will like it.

Something came in today.....

this in one nice tank, you did a wonderful job with it and are lucky to be able to get the really great items you have to keep it going. Keep posting, love the pictures and want to see the midget tank up and going .

So now on to my main tank……

I recently took my entire setup down and apart. I wanted to make a few changes and I am happy about the change.

I ended up painting the back black. Previously I used the usual black background film with that oily liquid that holds it to the tank. It worked well initially but with time, it began separating from the glass and bubbling up. I also wanted to run a barebottom setup. With my good experiences with SPS, I want to focus more on them and let the softies go. I won’t be giving up on my Orange Dendros or my Acans though.

Anywho….as the tank matures, I will reintroduce my corals and get that coralline growing again…..but here are some pics.

Thanks fellas!

I used JB Weld on two pieces to create that ledge.

To be honest, I don't like it! But that's because there are no corals in there. It looks so empty and dead.

I may have missed it so I apologize right now but are you going bare bottom on the OG tank? Really liking the new scape, pillar and penisulas are the most effective at drawing the attention. Plus piles of rock just look messy. Where are you putting up your children?
