Chgoblknazn's Tank Build Thread

Yeah. When I took the tank down and stirred through the sand, it was an insane mess of detritus. the water was cloudy with everything that was stirred up that the entire bottom 5 inches of tank was pitch black dark. I don't want that in my tank ever and sand is just messy. Now I can focus more on SPS and keep that nasties out for more pure water. I can siphon out junk weekly from the DT and keep every one happy.

The kids are in my 2 QT tanks that are taking up space. I can't wait to break them down!!

I began moving my babies over last week with the fish being the first group to check out the new digs. Then I moved over my dendros and acans. Last night I finally moved my SPS and my lights over. 2 modules over my 3 foot long tank did not look good to and I wanted my SPS everywhere...so I rearranged a bit under my stand and put all 3 modules on. It looks MUCH better with them all on. I was able to link all modules wirelessly and the whole system is talking with each other.

Here's a FTS.....

I wasn't sure If I would like it without the sand, but I love it. I can easily siphon out bits on the bottom and my PE is insane. Only issue were my orange dendros sliding across the bottom with the high flow and my hermits having to skate to get where they are going.

I easily remedied that by placing them on the rocks. My acans are now all glued to one flat rock so I can move my acan garden all at once when I need to. My pink pavona can now be placed on the bottom without issue, since they can't be placed on sand or gravel. My clam has already attached the glass and is loving the light.

This is really working out well.....

Looks great! My strawberry mint is coloring back up. It browned right after they came in from shipping. I don't think they like moving. Also, you may want to shade your acans.... best color comes out of them around 100 par or less.

I enjoy looking at this.

The tips on mine are already a deep pink and I am just waiting for the lighter spots to get greenish.

The acans will be moved directly under that peninsula. I created it specifically for them, because I love my acans and they will never be evicted. These pics were taken at 2AM this morning and I wasn't going to stick my hand back in there anymore. I was late to work because I woke up at 9AM.

Thanks y'all!!

Since I am NOW using all 3 modules on this tank, I will definately need to get a light for my Elos. I will be broke til Hanukkah. :shablon_03:

Thanks Bam!! They aren't even at 100% yet. In a couple weeks I willbump it up to 80% and I need to switch out the optics. My SPS will think they are back at home!
