Chgoblknazn's Tank Build Thread

Nice set up and good luck with the hobby. Are you going to drill the tank?

Thanks!

Yes. My Glass-Holes overflow was delivered today to my office and I think I want to drill it for the return as well. I'm terrified of busting the tank by drilling myself so I haven't decided if I will do it or just have someone else come to my flat and do it. I've been watching dozens of youtube videos on drilling the tank but i'm still nervous about doing it.

I have time to decide since I need to order the locline return stuff too.

I was scared too but after you do it you will be like wow that was easy. I used glass holes kit and drilled a glass cages tank just take your time and follow there videos.

Well Done! I am not sure I would have the brass to drill a new glass tank like that. Instead I would have had paid the extra to have it RR.

Again, well done!

My goodies from the BRS Group Buy arrived. I bought a faucet diverter for my Captive Purity RO/DI, 20 lbs of Pukani, tubing for my return and overflow and my Eheim 1260 return pump.

I also stopped by Aquatica in Tinley Park and Mario hooked me up with a 40lb bag of Caribsea Seafloor Special Grade Sand and a few other dry goods. He gave me 5% off my purchases and sent me off with some great honest answers to my noob questions. He'll mostly like me my #1 LFS choice.

Why are there fish in the tank? Your cycle did not happen in less than a week.

I used DrTim's Aquatics One and Only nitrifying bacteria. Ammonia and nitrates have been zero for a couple days. I put the fish in there to feed the bacteria. Inverts won't be introduced for a while though.
