Colaaddict's Shallow Tank

Looks good Nino! What lights are you using on this tank?

T5's baby! 8 bulb ATI fixture, but I think only a blue+/purple+ was on when I took the pictures. It's nice with the shallow tank, I can grow corals anywhere with T5's and with my rockwork with lots of shelves and braches, T5's gives me best coverage to eliminate any kind of shadowing that LED's would create.

Welcome to T5 club, you will also get awesome color with it too !

Looking good Nino, how do you like the ceramic rocks so far? Any problems with leaching phosphates, or problem cycling this stuff? Do you have more rock in sump ?

Yes, I have a bunch of liverock in sump. I have 0 hair algae, phosphates staying at 0.04, so I dont think they leach phosphates. They are starting to get diatoms I think, so they have silicates. I love the Cerameco rocks.

Wow. Haven't updated in awhile. Didn't realize all my pics got deleted from the server crash.
I'm currently just waiting for my corals to grow into my system. I was using the Reefbreeders Photon 48. I love the fixture, but not getting enough coverage over my wide tank:

Today I set up my new fixture, ATI 6 bulb T5 with Reefbrite LEDs to front and back. I couldn't be any happier with the setup. T5s gives the best coverage and color, and the addition of actinic blue LEDs make the T5 look even cooler:

what bulbs are you running? looks like 4 blue+'s and two 420's...

I'm running 4x Blue+ and 2x Coral+. 2x Actinic blue Reefbrites on front and back of fixture. Corals are awesome. The coral+ brings out the reddest pigment in corals that I have seen.

Yeah coral + is a great bulb! Blue enough to not wash out coral but dips into red enough to bring out some super deep color.

Tank looks great!
