Dre's 10gal recall build

Dre, u wanna go LFS hopping? I gotta visit the madman to give it one more shot with a mystery wrasse. Lots of stores on the way there. ;-)

Sat will be crazy as I have two parties to go too and help take pictures :rolleyes: Picking up today a 50mm lens f/1.8 or 1.4 :D But Madman is great and you will love his DT..

AA should have some and you can swing by ;)
 
Get the f1.4 The f1.8 will likely cost less but the f1.4 will have better glass and cleaner looking bokeh when shooting wide open. It will be worth the added cost if you do a lot of close-up work and want your subject to really stand out in the picture.
 
wel, if its nikon there is nearly a 200 dollar difference between f1.4 and f1.8

f1.8 is pretty sharp and not sure the difference is worth 200 bucks
 
Has nothing to do with sharpness. Overall quality of the captured image. If you are going to buy one for the long term, it's worth saving the pennies to get the f1.4 from the start. Both do the job, one just does it better, but comes with extra cost. Sell off some nice frags and treat yourself, you won't regret it.

If its not too late ill throw in my 2 cents. I suggest the f1.8 simply because the 50 1.4's only real advantage is its 1/2 stop of speed, which may or may not be useful to you. Both lenses are sharpest around 5.6 so unless you shoot wide open, put the money towards other accessories (tripod, flash, diffuser). Regardless of which you buy they are both fantastic lenses. Have fun shooting!
 
Thank you Tangency!! I went with the Minolta F/1.7 50mm lens.. From reading it's equivalent to a 75mm lens. It's a nice basic portrait lens for the $$

I took some outside pictures with my youngest daughter and the wife liked the pictures.. Which is rare in my case..LOL!!

Will be a nice task soon taking pictures with the tank!!

Here is a picture using one of my other lenses and was fast. Was in the rush for a big party, which I only had a few hrs of sleep. At work now : (

I will be posting pictures with something that no one ever does or can answer most of the times.. Hope this will help many members to get some type of an idea of taking pictures..
