Herbieace's 28g Nanocube

glad I found this thread. I have a rock nem too and never knew what the heck it was. I'm an idiot. He has been starting to get brown/black tips and i thought it was caused by not enough light. Now i see that the light could be too intense. Moving him to the shade!! Beautiful tank!!

Funny you should mention Mr. Crucifer. My pulsing Xenia has over taken the nem and he is on the move today for only the second time since I first saw him.

I'm surprised yours hasn't solved it's own light requirements.

Tanks looks good did you finally beat your algae? Was it a combo of everything you did or did the mp10 help a lot. Looking to pick up a couple of mp40s for my tank flow increase is the only thing I haven't done.

Thanks! So many things. It's very under control, but always there (like bad credit or herpes). The mp definitely helps though. I find my minor relapses occur most when my sponge filter gets fouled.

I'm about to put up a study on peroxide Ive been running if you want a very strong solution.

That is funny because today is the first day I have read about peroxide. I am going to try raising mag with tech m once it gets here tomorrow. If that doesn't work I will be pulling rocks out little by little for peroxide dips.
Herpes the gift that never quits giving.

I think Kent M really has been the catalyst I needed to break my cycle and get it under control. I have noticed that once the algae is weakened by Kent Tech M the regular CUC can eat it (bryopsis anyway). This is the thread I will be updating with my experiment:
http://www.chicagoreefs.com/forums/showthread.php?4603-Bryopsis&highlight=bryopsis There is some pretty good information building in there for control.

wow does the peroxide dip work i did two rocks a day ago and all the polyps are open already and the algea is gone
Now to figure out what to do with my large rocks and the ones with sps on them.
