No thanks. I'll call the police to collect the bodies of the intruders, as long as they're armed of course. Otherwise the cops will arrive to three dudes face down with their fingers locked behind their heads.

And those stats the we all keep arguing about, keep in mind that they're based on a small selection of people willing to take a survey. Highly doubtful that actual gun owners, of which there are many, would vote to have their constitutional right taken away.

As we saw during Hurricane Katrina, there were bands of armed criminals wandering the streets and pillaging people's homes. Where were the cops and the government? Oh yeah, they weren't around...........

Look at our Rambo here. 3 or 4 guys with guns are coming into your house, and he's going to kill them all without getting injured in the firefight. You're awesome, how can I be more like you Mr Schwarzenegger?

I actually know one person who would survive against 3 or 4 armed guys robbing him. He literally sleeps with a grenade launcher.

Most robbers wait until you leave your house, but I guess when there's 3 or 4 of them all armed they don't really care.

I also use to do Kung Fu and Krav Maga. The lesson in both you're still likely dead if the other guy has a gun. Bat too, unless you're really good.

Sure, they're all going to come in through the door one at a time to wait for you to shoot them.

Do you know who the people robbing you are? They're the guy that cleans your carpet, who opened a window latch while you weren't paying attention. How about the aquarium cleaner who snatched a garage door opener while you were watching tv? Then they just sit and wait until you leave. Your idea that you're protecting your family with your arsenal is ridiculous in most robberies.

You're better off getting a dog than being a really light sleeper, but up to you.

I'm a heavy sleeper. One of the reasons I have 3 pitbulls, and a firearm! You might get in, if your'e lucky, but you're not getting out!

For me it comes down to this: I have hundreds of deadly tools in this house. Each has their own specific purpose. I collect solutions. If I could snap my fingers and vaporize all the guns on earth I most certainly would, but since I can not, having one myself would seem the next logical course. I'd rather have it and never need it than need it once and not have it. Same goes for my faucet wrench. The emotion, the partisianship the ignorance and the passion (on both sides) I can do without. I am more concerned about eating when the power grid goes offline than I am about people stealing my crap. How many home invasions are there really in day to day life? Modern society is terrifying because it is so incapable and unprepared. Just imagine a katrina type event followed by a well timed dirty bomb and nasdaq closure. How much water do you have, how much canned food do you have, how much gas do you have how many rounds do you have and most importanlty; how much do you know? Those questions might very well be important in our lives (and they're why you just don't see me in the city much). Red Dawn probably isn't coming, but Zombieland probably could (if you take "zombie" as an alegory for hungry/thirsty people. We're past the point of no return on complete control. 30 million plus already in the public hand and now some nerd has printed a complete gun on a 3d printer (and fired it). Education and harsh enforcement of existing reasonable code is about all we can hope for. IMHO and all that.

Pits are one of my favorites. I volunteer at a Pit Shelter in Vernon Hills sometimes. Wish I could get one, but my house is already a zoo.
 
bottom line is this country was built with guns and that way of thinking isnt gunna change the only thing gun control is goin to do is take the guns out of the law abiding citizens the criminals r not goin give theres up so i say to all the anit gun people open ur eyes and really if this is the route the country is heading im bout ready to just leave

did you ever see the article about how a vast majority of illegal firearms came from one crooked gun shop in So Cal somewhere? I'll have to try to find it. It was like 60 or 70% even I think. That's why a bunch of new laws just aren't going to work. You have to stop the greed to slow the black market, not make it more illegal than it already is. Example: War on drugs.

Bleh, I need to get out of this convo. I'm about as worried about Obama barging in here to take my guns as I am Paula Dean hurling a frozen ham at my head. Just ain't gonna happen. How about you boys in DC just get a budget passed for Walt's sake?

And actually once the first one goes down the others would retreat. The criminal mindset is based on preying on the weak, once that dream gets shattered by someone on the defensive they flee the situation.

I don't need a solution to an imaginary problem. Criminal are not as stupid as you think. They don't prey on the weak, they prey on the stupid.
