JeboWP-40 cheaper replacement for Tunze and Vortech?

They're coming out with a WP25 for smaller tanks soon, which will obviously be smaller but the same programming.

And, you can control the speed between three different speed functions, so what you're saying isn't entirely true. You can decide what of three different speed modes are running, but not control the speed directly with a dial.
6 Different Mode. Max 13000L / 4300L / 6500L and then the three pre-sets.

lots more videos on you tube for it

this.. I hope is out soon as well.... keeps getting delayed.

I am not trying to argue with you. I was just giving people a heads up that in all but one mode, it's going to run full blast, which is probably too much flow for most smaller tanks. If people want to buy them, then have at it.... I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for.

A lot of people throw out that argument. I have seen plenty posts about broken wet sides, broken dry sides, involving vortechs. For $85, I can replace the unit 5x's before I reach the cost of a vortech that hasn't yet broken. Most people who throw out that argument have only paid for the right to brag.

Don't get me wrong, MP's are amazing products, but the price tag is completely ridiculous. I don't care how amazing they are, it's a magnetic driven pump with some bells and whistles.

I will throw out that argument with any of the reef equipment I have.... I didn't buy my MP10's or anything else to brag. I bought them because they are the best. They offer low heat inside the tank, supreme adjustability and awesome customer service. I bought my ATI light fixture because of the quality and long standing reputation for being the best. On the flipside, I have an ebay SC skimmer that I went cheap on. Does it work? Yes, but not as good as a Reef Octopus, Tunze, etc skimmer.

If I am going to spend thousands of dollars on coral and fish, why would I want to skimp on the equipment that keeps them alive?

You can buy replacement parts for the Vortechs. You don't need to buy a whole new Vortech if your existing one breaks down.

Just before i was about to buy another MP10, this thread opened. I watched the videos of the wp40 and said "wow for a little over a hundred, you can get almost the same as a vortech." I held off on buying the vortech and told myself to wait for another person to post a review on this new one.

But then, i quickly realized how much i love the vortech i already have and how easy it was to get questions answered and support from vortech. I registered the product and have a while of warranty on it. No electricity in the tank and keeps a very clean setup. You can also buy literally every single part for vortech is something happens. So then i thought, "well what if the wp40 breaks, its it covered? is there replacement parts? who can i call to get support?...

Long story.......long, i went with Vortech.

I had two MP40 for two years. They are great power heads when new, but after a year bearings are wearing out and they get loud . Customer service is great but I also needed to replace my magnets that completely corroded and also get new wetside. After spending sooo much on those in first place I did not expect to be replacing parts so quick. Got tired of them and got Tunze that I like a lot better. I am happy that finally somebody is trying to make cheaper power head than Tunze or Vortech , even knowing they can't yet duplicate their controllability. There is really nothing between cheap Koralias and Vortechs and Tunze and I am glad somebody is trying to fill the gap.
