This is one of the reasons they make collars specifically for Cats - We'll mainly because they do alot of climbing in tight places, etc and their collars can get caught as basically hang the cat (literally). Cat collars are made to have a 'safety' snap that, when enough pressure is applied (such as the cat 'hanging') it releases vs. a regular dog-type metal latch collar. I dont know if that would have been enough pressure to reason it when it was stuck in her mouth but maybe something to look forward in the future. Otherwise, just make sure its snug (able to fit two fingers between neck / collar) and you should be fine. Just a thought... (Worked at a pet store w/ pups & kittens for several years).
