Kerber13's 120 gal upgrade

Make sure you are getting what you want out of that timed power strip. I think the digital one only lets you time 2 outlets of the outlets and they are on the same clock.

What else is there? i dont want to buy a rocketship to time lights

check out home depot/lowes. If you want that digi one you can buy it there, but you might be better with a heavy duty power strip/surge protector and some heavy duty timers.

Reefkeeper lite basic. Gets you a controller, 4 outlets to start with, halide safety for power loss, thermostat for heater control. All for like $120 brand new. Well worth the money for peace of mind even if all you ever use it for is lighting and heater.

This is seemingly a great deal w/ ppl who have jobs...sadly i am 16 and unemployed other than things at home and selling stuff from my 55 i have no income...which means a $120 purchase is crippling to my forage for an upgrade

that death star goes for $400 on ebay. The Taj Mahal is around $1300 if you still have the box. If I didn't have both I would buy them from you. I'm just sayin ;)

Food for thought, you have your halides plugged into a "dumb" timer, and your neighborhood has a momentary blackout, power is out long enough to shut off your halides, but not long enough for them to cool down properly, and when the power comes back on, fires up your ballasts and blows out your bulbs. How much will it cost you to buy 2 new bulbs and the rush shipping to have them next day so you don't end up losing corals waiting for new bulbs to arrive? Also, say your heater goes haywire and nukes everything in your tank? How much would that loss cost you? Having a controller system is not only a convenience, but a cheap insurance policy on the rest of your equipment and livestock.

Ur logic costs me money...>_<

But but but my Legos. I love my legos

Kerber, you must enter the dark time and then return to lego when you are older. You will learn the ways of the AFOL and you will learn that Lego means fun and therefore should never be pluralized. They are Lego elements, not "Legos" (sort of kidding)

Don't you think a sweet tank will impress the ladies (or whatnot) a heck of a lot more than the $1800 Lego Star Destroyer (that one I don't have)? Again, I'm just sayin

 thats alright, you are more than welcome to take your chances, no one says you have to buy it. Just strongly urging you it may be a good idea.

I cut so many corners with the 55 gal tank i really dont want to cut any with this one...i think i might get one...but 3 of the pc slots will be taken for lights and 4 in the future cause i have the 2 MH i want to add actintic VHO and lunar LEDs i guess ill just have to add another pc
:'(

Hey ill give it to u for $1500 ;)

Erik, I think that these halides have an auto-shut off feature if they restart to quickly? I may be wrong. All the same, I might have flipped the bulbs on and off a few times; they don't relight properly, but they didn't explode, not to say they can't.
