LIVE ROCK & DRY ROCK discussion

That is pretty sick! I knew i should have ordered the Mortar instead i got the 2-step epoxy and the Marco rods. I ordered some shelf rock with the Largo. Hopefully they go good together. dam good job on that scape. Looking forward to see more. :)

Yeah the mortar really strong. Thanks and that piece is now retired and collecting dust up on the attic

That's not a bad idea. Quarantine it before throwing it in the main system.

That's pimp. I follow your new Elos display bro. I was too late to buy your buddies tank but yours looks sick. I have never tried this method with the acrylic rods but it seems like it's going great with your display. This is probably what I will do when I start my new setup in the summer.

Thanks. This piece is not in my display anymore. I have Cerameco Vida rock in there now.

Awesome Build DJE. how do you like the Gyra? and I was also looking into the Genesis how is that working for you also? are you Doing or CaRx?

Thanks. The Gyre is pretty nice and I like it a lot. I removed two Tunze and two wp25's and the gyre took its place. Tank looks much cleaner too.

The Genesis is awesome too. Set it and go. I make 15g of saltwater and have it changing 3G per day so every 5 days I mix a batch.

Do you think its over kill to do x2 Mp40s and a Gyre? also, if I got a genisis do i have to buy the package deal? or can i buy individual modules? I kinda dont like the two buckets that you need to hang. Still trying to understand how it works.. More so the technical part of it. Do you mind sharing photos of that?

You are setting up a pretty big tank, right? If so I would just do 2 gyre but that's just me. I bought the entire Genesis setup and it included ATO and the Rocv to control my rodi. You actually need those buckets as that's what holds the water. It meters out exactly 1g of fresh saltwater and at the same time removes 1g of tank water. Here are a couple of videos that someone made and shows how the system works.

When is the last time you changed any of your RO/DI filters/membranes?

What was the plain RO/DI water in when you tested it? Perhaps it isn't the water, but whatever container it is in?

It was actually the vial. It was dirty lol cleaned it out with a wooden Q-tip. Its a brandnew Rodi system. 2 weeks old.
