I also make my own Filter socks. I don't have a sowing machine though so I have to do it by hand. But if it saves me money i am ok with it. Tag me whenever you start I'd like to see what you come up with.

Wow kudos to you for sewing by hand! I would lose my mind very quickly. I am in the process of a batch of 100. Fortunately my mom has a sewing machine that I can borrow. In the future, I can sew you some too so that you don't have to hand sew them it takes a couple of seconds to do each one with machine.
I got a good idea for an semi enclosed ATS so once I start I will document it in my thread

So I started growing GHA on one of my main rocks. After checking water levels 8 determined my phosphates where a bit on the high side. Immediately I made some changes.
15% water change.
Swapped out the GFO on reactor.
And for long term I began Carbon dosing. With Vinegar.
I am keeping my options open as I read more reviews from josh's review with the algea scrubber from Santa Monica. For the mean time the carbon dosing has shown progress. My skimmer has been running wet but I have pulled out a ton of crud. Every 2 days I have to empty the skimmer cup. Coral is reacting very well to changes. I have noticed my Acans and my Indonesian scully growing almost 1/3 in size.
