Hi,I was at the MACI in St.Charles today and saw a lot of you guys there.I wonder what are your thoughts about this show and of course what you got there for yourselves. Bring it on !!!.

I was a little disappointed, very nice to put faces to screen names on here.

I would like to give props to the guys at ecotech for hooking me up.

Still setting up the new tank so I didn't want to splurge. I did pick up some nice a few nice zoos and prism favia.

I really want to know if anyone shelled out the money for the scoli's from the guys from new york with the blackjacks hats on.

This one

I spent most of the day on Saturday setting up, I didn't win anything at the raffle. I was hoping that there would be more vendor give a way's from there actual booths. I had vendor from TLF try and sell me on a phosban reactor off of the table for $60 bucks, I replied that I could pick it up from Dr. Foster Smith for $54. Needless to say I didn't pick one up at MACI.

Definitely felt like a lack of vendors/sellers for such a large venue, especially for all the hype. Perhaps the prices kept them away. Having it the same weekend as Reefstock may have affected the turnout too. Definitely has potential to be a big time show in the future.

I wish there was some more stuff, and the prices weren't so jacked up. I've just gotten such good deals on corals elsewhere..

I did get a free (what I believe to be) hammer coral though. And some kind of crazy beautiful rainbow acan frag. Can't wait till it grows.

I too was a little disappointed. I attended the "build a reefball workshop" which wasn't really a workshop instead just a bad speaker with 2 bad videos and a very small reefball that you can't really put coral on. I just felt that they were a bit unorganized. I give alot of credit to the girl doing the raffles because she pretty much did everything herself. Maybe the guy with the microphone and walkie talkie should have put the beer down and focused a little more on the task at hand and got that girl some help.

All in all this was my first show of this type so I didn't really know what to expect. I ended up paying the $100 for raffle tix and only won 1 prize but it was worth it. The people at Reef Nutrition really hooked it up and I left with well over $100 in product.

My thoughts exactly. I was expecting a lot more of vendors/product show.To me it was just a regular frag swap almost. Unfortunately I did not need corals now.I think it is a good start and maybe beginning of something bigger in the future.I would like to have big marine conference here in Chicagoland every year.On the lighter note I picked up few items that I had ordered from PA at a nice discount. Brand new ATI Sunpower dimmable with new bulbs. It will go on my new rebuild in few weeks.

Yeah,very nice. I saw you spending $$$$$$

This looks so nice.

Yeah, I did spend some nice amount of $$$.. I was happy as some of the vendors did work with me on prices. Walked home happy and got better deals than the wife :D It was nice to see everyone and some old members that came out of the cave.. LOL!!!

The picture was just reference.. Not my type of coral..

It was interesting I guess! I got some nice frags at some good prices, but I was still expecting more. There were tons of livestock vendors, but almost half of them were charging ridiculous amounts. I was also sort of expecting more demonstrations of products, but hey, that's just me.

If tables are only $75 again next year, I'm so selling. :D

Irritatingly enough, I won one of the marine geek raffles, but wasn't there. my ticket was with one of the guys from the Sea Schor, but I guess he didn't here my name, which we both agreed was a possibility. About five minutes after that, on the way out, I ran into Cat, who offered to hold the ticket, but I didn't go back to get it. Sure enough....

Does anyone know what coral would have been awarded to Ben Goldberg?

My first show. I enjoyed it. I thought half the sellers had good prices and half were way overpriced. More product demonstrations and samples in booths would have been nice. i live in St. Charles so it was convenient for me. With the show being new and the vendor count being low it was difficult to find enough to do for 7 hours until the raffle started. Would like to see the raffle earlier in the day or throughout the day. I bought a half dozen frags and a Mandarin. It was a good show. Looking forward to better things next year.

my first show as well I liked it alot got some goodies and ill post some pics tom when everything settles just finished reorganizing and acclimating lots of fun will attend next year and I got a friend who knows nothing about the hobby who is now getting a new tank wed thanks everyone for a overall.good event in my eyes

+1 for an earlier raffle. I understand that having it last means people stay longer, but there was little to do once you made it through all of the sellers.

Wish there was more!! but from what was there pretty good!! I got a lot of great buys!! kinda upset that one of my raffles was stolen/missing/given away so that was upsetting.

Hey Navy it's me Tammy, the person at the raffle table. Can you pm me what you were supposed to win. I'm very sorry, I thought I caught everyone!
