Mixed 60 cube build

Still not full but I have run into plumbing problems I am filling the build rn and I am having some problems and I kinda need a quick response on some advice. I wanted to do a main drain herbi style siphon going into a filter roller I realize it isn’t working now because I plumbed it straight into the filter roller not allowing the air to get out of the pipes so the water won’t go done the pipe I am not sure if I explained it right but I will send some photos and see if you can suggest a way to fix it
 
Had a major setback and flood bc I screwed up the plumbing :( idk hopefully I will have this tank running soon but man it is giving me so manny set backs

Ik I am gonna get attacked by tang police but I think a baby purple tang in a 60cube for 2-3 years is fine especially because I have plans for it. I am more wondering about comparability this is gonna be a very stocked tank with high nutrients. It’s a lps heavie mixed tank I also will be feeding the tank with a auto feeder 3 times a day for the anthias I am aiming for a really active tank full of colorful fish. All suggestions on fish are welcome this isn’t set in stone and I will be slowly stocking once tank is up

There should hardly be any water going down the red pipe; is the gate valve on your durso open all of the way? I have the same drain setup, and if I didn't have two gyres pushing waves into my overflow box, my plumbing would be silent.
 
Perhaps try slowing your return pump. I agree with @Funlad3, isn’t the red pipe the emergency backup, for if or when the main drain is overwhelmed or clogged.

can you tell where exactly is the noise coming from?
i'm in the process of building a system now and i had an annoying noise coming from the water moving throw the hole between the tank and the external overflow box.
i closed the gate valve a little bit to raise the water level in the overflow box to be about 1" above the the hole and its super quiet now

The gate valve is open all the way

the noise is coming no the from the water going over the weir and air going down the pipe
 
as for water going over the weir, try closing the gate valve a little bit to raise the water level in the overflow box so there will be less of a "Drop"

and for the air going down the pipe, are you talking about the main drain pipe or the red emergency pipe?
my guess is that you have air trapped inside the main return pipe. you might want to consider adding a small air release valve on the cap
