My 50 Cadlights Cube Artisan 2 Build

I just need to add some rock to the fuge, and also some chaeto. LED group buy light will hopefully be coming Friday so that will be installed right away.

If you need some more cheato, lmk when you come grab your lights, I have plenty.

Quick update:

I picked up the new light from Dan on Friday. It is the IT2040. Set it up, programmed it, and have it adjusted height wise. It's pretty nice! I took a pic of both channels at 100%. I'll go ahead and post the pic since it's so funny looking due to the overwhelming blueness haha! In person it's nowhere near that blue.

I assure you, the light isn't anywhere near as blue lmao!

I've added some fish, probably more than I should have but I want to see how well Dr. Tims one and only works. I've only used it once before. I had set up a deep blue 2.2 gallon cube for the frag club and bought a piece of live rock thinking, instant cycle. Added a tailspot blenny and then tested the water a week later. Nitrites were blood red. I bought a bottle of one and only, dumped it in, then tested daily. It took roughly three days but the nitrites were gone!

I also tossed some chaeto in the new fuge, as well as a small clean rock covered in coralline from my 27 gallon.

Just took this shot a few minutes ago. I believe the light is on 1% blues as it's just starting it's daylight cycle. I also added one rock to the column on the right. Also added another rock to the pile in front of the left column. As you can see, my return pump and the mp40 blow that sand around pretty badly ATM lol.

I'll hopefully be adding more chaeto by the end of the week. I'll update this again as soon as there is more progress.

The only equipment I don't have yet is the apex unit, ATO, and doser. The doser I'll be moving from my 27 cube because I won't have nearly the amount of sps in there as I do now. I'm waiting on the apex and the ATO will be ordered once I get the apex.

Status update:

I picked up the apex controller and got it set up. Hooked it up to a gaming adapter and next step is to mount it vertically outside of the stand. I'm hoping to get that done this weekend. PH probe is coming by Friday also.

I ordered the Avast ATO which is due to arrive by the end of the day today. Not sure if I'll set it up right away, or wait until this weekend.

As far as the cycle goes, I believe the tank is cycled already. The Dr. Tims One and Only is amazing stuff! I'm already seeing brown diatoms on the sand bed so I'm thinking I'll be adding a couple test corals soon. I ran some tests again last night and all parameters are perfect, except for PH which is on the low side of the acceptable range. 7.9. I'm thinking that once the chaeto grows in, or when I add more, having the fuge on a reverse light cycle will keep PH raised a bit more. Dosing will help as well since I haven't moved my dosing unit over yet. That will be done once I have my sps moved over from my other tank. I'd get some pics up, but it's pretty pointless at this time since I've added nothing lately.

Quick couple of photos. I'll do a written update tomorrow at some point, along with a new FTS. I'll be adding some more of my SPS to this tank within the next day or so.

Here's today's FTS:

Here's my new Flame tip BTA.

It was very difficult to take these photos under the new led's. I'll get better the more I take though.

Dam bro tank is looking awesome bro!! Everything is coming together and that NEM is SWEET!

Thanks bro! I didn't think that I'd be all that into nems, but daaayyyym, they're awesome lol!

After I took those photos I had a chance to temporarily move the corals I have in there around. I'm going to wait for final placement once I move the rest of the sps into the tank. Once I do that, I'll probably have my arm in the tank for a couple hours lol!

New FTS once I do that!

that gap is going to look so cool filled with sps!! DAM! that nem looks like one of my favorites i got from MWCF. awesome midas too, is he a blue :spy:

Thanks Erik! I can't wait to start messing with coral placements. I'll probably be messing with it for a while haha!

But yeah, I'm really happy with the nem. It's inner body is green and it goes to orange, up to the purple/reddish tips and the tentacles have white speckling on them. So cool! It's also stayed in the second spot I chose for it. The first spot I stuck it in, it basically said "hell naw" and popped off the rock and was floating lol!

The midas, I think may be a blue one. He hasn't changed at all since I've added him to the tank. I thought he might turn all yellow after a week, but it's been close to a month and he hasn't changed yet!

Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow to mess with the corals and stuff. I'll get some updated shots after they're all permanently in their new spots!

with that sand bed i thnk u can put one of them jawfishes in this tank for real lol. That's if u decide not to add any corals on the sand bed lol

Looks good; like the aquascape a lot! I might have to copy it....... :)

Thanks Vic! Go for it lol! I got inspired by someone who did a very similar scape!

Ha! I am tempted! I am going to take a good deal of that sand out. I just want a really small layer on the bottom.

Sweet looking tank! Are you going to add more fish?

Thanks Mark! I am, but I'm going to add the rest slowly. The good thing is that I have three tanks now where I can move fish around if they're not happy or fight!
