My Deep Blue Pro 80 Upgrade

Yes I have to do that also with the edges of my 30g. I clean it every other day when I clean the glass so it's not that bad. And as for the screen top, if u make it black u can make it so it fits inside the tank instead of on top. Just need to ge some small pieces of acrylic and glue them on the frame. The acrylic will hold on to the glass on ur tank and make the top look like its floating. Also by having it that way the mesh will cover the overflow. That will help keep out the fish from jumping in the overflow.

yeah, that was my original thought to size it for an inside the tank installation but unfortunately the overflow box on the 80G is right up to the top edge of the glass....and I can't find any curved window screen framing...lol

gotta give the noggin a serious workout tryin' to think of something I'm gonna like.... :p

well now....finished my re-aquascaping project...not sure I'm in love with it quite yet....will take some pix tomorrow after the dust settles and see what you all think...

04/05/2015 Update: Aquascape

Happy Easter and Passover to all....

Well, the dust has settled on my re-aquascaping I did last night and I would like to get opinions from those interested enough to be viewing this thread ;)
I was unable to create purely dedicated islands for specific corals because my collection of shrooms heavily outweighs my collection of SPS and LPS...
Here is what I have come up with but am open to constructive criticism....

FTS:

WDiwvcll.jpg

Left Side: has the few remaining SPS I have along with a "mountain" of Ironman shrooms I have developed over the years
bateVyCl.jpg

Center: has the few LPS colonies I have along with my "mound" of Giant Hairy shrooms I have grown over the years

Right Side: houses all (12-14) my BTAs

So...I have created three islands of coral, with some random pieces placed on the sandbed....
Note: since this tank has a depth (front to back) dimension of 24", I was able to construct the Left and Right portions further back and the Center portion towards the front which makes for a nice depth of field when you see it in person...I tried my best to take a pic of this from the top but the lamp reflection on the water surface was challenging so here is the best I could do:

Okay now....let me know what you think ;)

i like it , have you ever considered putting your shrooms on tiles ? this would give ya some more rocks space but obviously take up the open sand space . good job and gotta love the 24" depth !

Awesome set up bro and like the rock scape... What's the color of ur hairy mushrooms btw I want

thanks guys....it's starting to grow on me but don't be surprised if I do a revised edition...LOL

thanks brah...I actually have three different colors...the largest of them has a metallic green skin with light lavender tentacles...others are all lavender with light blue tips or highlights around the tentacles and the smallest one I have is a brownish purple skin with light green tips....each one is uniquely beautiful in its own right...I think I saw small floater in the back of my tank the other day that you are welcome to Jep...

finally found the time to add my SWC 160 Cone Skimmer....set at 9" waterline height...
gate valve set fully open and about 50% air intake....should be dialed in by tomorrow... :)

I added my new little buddy in to the DT last night when the lights were out and earlier today he learned the hard way to stay away from my breeding pair of Snowflake's nesting area....
poor thing, he got smacked hard on his dorsal fin by one of them.....
