New Addition "Thorny Oyster"

Don't know that much about those, but I'm guessing it's not really photosynthetic, which means it's a filter-feeder. Your tank probably needs a ton of nutrients for this thing.

Yeah, I don't believe it is photosynthetic either. It requires moderate to strong flow and supplemental feeding for sure. I got this at Tropiquatics in Lombard. I paid $30 after my 10% member discount. It was the last one, but I'm sure they could order you another.

Me either. Saw it a few days ago and had it put on hold so I could research it. I couldn't resist. It's too cool. It was between this or another clam.

I wanted one of these in my tanks but I couldn't find many people who could keep them alive for more than a few months. They need tons of food flowing in the water since they are filter feeders. They are certainly gorgeous. Keep us updated.

i totally see the muppets too!!!

You could try target feeding it phyto with a syringe or small squirting thing.

could do the baby clam method (which i dont recommend with baby clams) where you put a container over it and squirt some in there. dont want to clog its "feeding gills" tho, so i wouldnt over do it
