Well I just took down the 65 last night and set the 150 in its place. Thought I would start a new build thread to document the process. I have to admit going from an acrylic 65 gallon to this heavy glass tank was not fun getting it up the stairs. This process is going to go slow but here is the start of it, getting it set into place.

I am pretty much at a stand still till black Friday when I can order new parts and get things rolling, I will update this thread as I do stuff to the tank, thanks for looking!

Ooh. That tank looks great! I wish I had enough space in my house for something like that. Will be great to see what you do with it.

Well I did some work this weekend, got quite a few things ordered, but most have not come in yet. Mostly I have been setting up my saltwater mixing closet, pretty happy with the results should be complete with it this week once the pump comes in and i can run hose to the display tank so i can fill with a push of the button from the apex.

I also got my powerheads and 3 cases of sand in.

Quick question the entrance of these rw-20 pumps is huge should i be worried that a fish is going to swim in there and get chopped up by the propeller?

Got some more parts in the mail today, thank you UPS man! Got a new skimmer and a new sump. First thoughts the skimmer is huge! way bigger than I thought, i took a photo next to a gallon jug for scale.

I really like the sump, its the Trigger Systems Emerald 34.

After trying to set the huge skimmer into the skimmer section i realized that the flange on the outside of the cone would not pass the lip of the sump, so i had to hacksaw about an inch off of each side and it fit nicely after that.

More updates to come!

You're killing me, now I feel rediculous for putting a tideline sump on my new much smaller rimless tank, lol. The green is a nice emerald green!

I can't believe you took a hacksaw to that piece of art! Haha.

i really didn't have any choice, you wouldn't even be able to notice because i just sawed off an inch on 2 of the lips to make it slide right in! Kinda dumb that the flange that holds it together is larger than the footprint of the skimmer.

Well been a lil bit since i posted an update, I have done some work on tank. Got my rocks from Marco Rocks last weekend. Here is a photo of one of the rocks.

Got them all in the tank and now the tank is cycling. As you can tell my RW-20's are way too powerful for this tank and they blew the sand all around.

Today I went and picked up a dosing pump and 3 containers, here is a photo for that.

Still need to figure out what i am doing for powerheads and then start saving for new lights. But atleast the tank has water and is starting the cycle. Will update more when i get things going.

I really like the aquascape.. (iPhone just autocorrected that to squad ape, haha)

The picture might be deceiving but do you have enough room to clean the class on both sides of the rock work?

Well got my dosing pump mounted, about to set up the ATO that comes with this dosing pump. It has a built in automatic water change system, still need to figure out how that works, but from reading it does a slow water change over a 2 week period. Here is a photo.

Thats a nice dose system.

I actually knew a guy who would dose manual even once built some drip method that all looked like was a container and an airline dripping the volume he wanted in the container and started the drip.

His methods were old, but worked well for him.

Update been 14 days of cycling the tank....Ammonia goes away within 24hrs but Nitrites are still pretty high...the long stand still of doing nothing and staring at a empty tank is a joy lol
