New Nuvo 8

I wanted to update a little bit. This tank is doing well. Weekly waterchanges at 2 gallon is a must. I have it a bit overstock. I removed the media basket. The flow in this guys is much better. I added an extra return nozzle and increased pump size to nearly 300gph. As u can see I have a 240 nano ph. I run it rimless with too much evaporation. An ATO is next.
 
I need to clean out some of the everyday looking polyps. My acans, and that birdsbest have never looked better. The new growth is teal. Looks great.
 
I was thinking that rock was too big. It 12lb by itself and has allot of unuseable surface area. I was think of selling it and maybe getting small rubble and building up a corner. I have no dead spots now and don't want any.

Why are you trying to change the rock though ??
 
Matt, have you seen the thread from that guy on r2r that used a bunch of quarry rock rubble pieces and build the long thin structures of rock with the pieces and epoxy? It looked awesome what he did, could work well in a nano where space is a premium, could save space and use more rock at the same time building your own rock structure.
 
I bought a new toy today. Fluval g3. It already has my water clearer than ever. No more cutting filter pads. I put chemipure elite in the biological side. It's quiet and sharp.
 
Whoo thoses are the fancy ones with the salinity monitor in them right? Very cool find. Where are the pic? How much? Where did yea get it from?
 
Conductivity.... It tells u salinity, buts its generally not 100%. You compare the conductivity to a chart to determine salinuty, but conuctivity can be affected by access organic buildup or even dosing. It indicates if there's ever a sudden change in parameters. It's really nice tho. It leaked like crazy at first. I lubed the seals and no more water.
 
Lol. I'm surprised these aren't more popular. It's quite nice. Maybe a bit overkill on 8 gallons, but it runs pretty slow. Giving more contact time to the carbon, gfo, or whatever u use. In my case chemipure elite.
