no idea. my alk been hovering around 7 for awhile with just regular water changes. i am gonna start dosing now to get it higher and keep it higher. new batch of Reef Crystals is almost 11 alk so that's probably not good when i do a water change.
 
I am having similar issues with RC and high alk. What I have been doing is stopping kalkwasser and only dosing calcium. Then I maintain alk by doing frequent smaller water changes about 5% a week. Once my corals start consuming more alk I'll resume the kalkwasser.
