Only 2 water changes last year!

Looks great. Wish I could but I just cant. Done this before and it led to disaster. I got a bit too comfortable and stopped checking for salinity lol. We all know where this goes.

Looks amazing and saveing on salt lol

Thanks and yes saving on salt too until I install the water change system.

Thanks and like I mentioned above, what might work for me might not work for everyone:) This mainly happen because,
1 - I was lazy
2 - Was remodeling the basement.
3- I was very lazy
4 - Have 3 boys that require lots of attention
5- Lazy, lazy and lazy. :)

The plan in the up coming weeks is to finally install the automatic water change system. I'm sure the tank will benefit from very small water changes daily. Then it'll be hands off again. I do try check the salinity once a week

Haha. Very true. It Did Work For Me For Almost A Year I Went without a water change. But than it was bad. I got completely lazy and hit rock bottom lazy. Very sweet though man. Thanks for sharing.

Very slick! Is the TDF from WCR?...very nice piece and not a hopped up red planet ;) like the one I got from JF.

Also, must say I'm surprised that they do so well without regular replenishing of trace. Good for you! Personally, I tend to see a slight uptick in PE after I do my weekly 10% wc's which makes me think they are doing some good in my tank, but every tank is different. I hope mine looks like yours in a year or 2, well done!

I love seeing this. Sure, most of us know what should be done w/r/t water changes, but honestly life does get hectic sometimes and seeing that a system can survive these periods is encouraging. I'm also glad to see the reaction of the forum. All too often I read posts on other forums where people try to impose there methodology on others rather than learning from others experiences. I've gone through these phases of limited water changes and IME the GFO reactor is the key. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Two questions
What is your feeding regime

Did you even clean algae or anything at all ?

I try to feed at least 3 times when I get home (5:30,630&7:30)

The only algae that I clean is from the glass every other day (lite dusting).

Thanks Eric! Yes that is the real deal from @piodog. My plan is to finally set up my water charger because I also believe it will benefit tremendously. Remember you're on the list for a frag when it grows up:)

Thanks man and yes it's been really positive. I'll have to post my filtration system too since that's plays a major part in all this.

That's right, I forgot we already discussed the TDF :)

Recently, I met a reefer in Rockford who gave me a piece of his TDF that he got from Adam at BC a couple years ago. Adam could never get it to color up so he gave his whole minicolony to him. Well, it colored up and looks exactly like this one on FF's website.

I'm really hoping that it develops more of the morph of the poidog piece which looked like this one from the FF website:

I'd show you the "TDF" I bought from JF, but it looks like a Red Planet but with longer polyps than the ORA RP...nothing more...nothing less

I've put mine in higher light than the guy who I got my frag from so I'll see if it morphs. If not, the violet/purple/pink in the one I have is still like nothing I've seen before. Perhaps we could trade once it grows a bit.

amazing, good job

Thanks Andre!

We can work something out Eric. Here is how I've always remembered the TDF looking.

I'm glad I have it:)

Here's the thread when Eric (Piodog) got it(won it) at Macna 2011

i hate doing water changes but do them out of habit...the nualgi (never heard of it before) is what is replenishing the trace minerals? not too familiar with this product

Wow amazing. I tried the nualgi. Wasn't a fan of it. Seen no changes from what I was already getting.

Thanks!
