I have no problem with it. I'm thick-skinned, albeit well moisturized, and as you can imagine I don't really care about other people's opinions or negative feedback or comment. My world will always still turn.

I say ask for help if you need it, but always be gracious and appreciative.
 
I have had some haters attack me when I post a FS thread. They start listing all the pests I had asked help for in the past 5 years! Obviously I would NEVER sell something from a tank without taking care of the pests 1st. Luckily, those haters don't last long on this forum!

A lot of time the newer members to the site and hobby might feel intimidated to ask the beginner questions in fear they think are asking a "dumb" question. A quick search using that feature of the site will show that beginner question asked several times with helpful information, and also helps to reduce the clutter of redundant threads in the future. Sometimes the search button is the most useful "help" someone can have.

Thank you lord jesus christ, Joseph and Mary. This is my biggest annoyance. The same questions asked a million times in a gazillion new threads. Especially the BB or Sand question.

George, if no body ask for help in this forum so the search button of this site will return none.

Example: If I ask for help about Nitrate then later on some body search for Nitrate then he/she will see my post about Nitrate, otherwise nothing will show.

But to me, I will search first then ask question if nothing show.

Yes, but if you don't use the search first, how will you know if the question has already been asked and you are just duplicating information? I can understand when the site was new and not much information was available yet but we are pushing on 2 year anniversary already I'm pretty sure most of everything has been asked by now.

Kinda OT but yea Dont worry Jeni, haters always hate ..

i have seen people saying and doing anything just to sell their stuff maybe that causes the paranoid ideas
 
Comming back to the topic, yes some members and new people are afraid to post their questions on the forum cause they might be afraid of how the answers are gonna come thru. maybe how we say it also matters than what we say.

Being fairly new, I try to research as much as possible before posting a question. Sometimes my search shows no results, so then I ask away... even if I feel stupid. :der: LOL!
