For about the first year of my reef keeping experience I was solely on thereeftank.com and have since branched out as to where I am now on on sevral sites. I was just wondering what sites others are on. Curious to see if I am missing out on any sites that others frequent.

I am on
1. ChicagoReefs.com
2. TheReefTank.com
3. ReefCentral.com

you like uberfrags? never really cared for the site that much.

sheer volume, RC and nano-reef have some of the biggest populations you'll find.

What does Uberfrags have that we are missing? Personally I have never been into forums until recently. I think it has to do with our meetings and being able to meet someone in person after talking with them here and then being able to buy.,sale or trade soon after.

Sorry bud I have already signed up on 1reef, I just don't use the site so I didn't list it.

I know its not the most popular site out there right now but hey its only a few weeks old. It has grown a lot in the past couple of weeks and theres a decent amount of activity. I just need you to envision a site where vendors and manufactures can sponsor and advertise for free, but they have to donate to the community annually. Its a win win situation for everybody. In time, I hope to get up to 10 or more giveaways per month! I need members like you to remain active so that sponsors see the potential of the site. :fans:

reef2reef.com is my fav big reef forum. All the vendors are on there and the members are all really friendly.

No offense to anyone, but über is dead and has been for quite awhile.

Yup I love Reef2Reef as well. You get to see alot of new stuff from the vendors before hitting the sites.

ReefCentral
ChicagoReefs
UberFrags

It is not really dead, but does a Good job to keep internet bullies out of there. Are you getting any idea of who I might be talking about?

I was hesitant to start this thread because I don't wanna ruffle any feathers. Just curious to see where others find their knowledge and guidance. As far as reef1 goes I am thinking that 10 giveaways a month on a site that is marketed at people worldwide is not going to benefit me. I did sign up and take a look. I stopped shot of the 30 posts necessary to get whatever giveaway was being flaunted. It seemed to me that the site is a carbon copy of many other sites out there without the database of knowledge. With that said I do have well wishes for any and all reef sites and hope 1reef is successful.

And no offense to you but anyone carying the tag "team chicago reefs" IMO would have a tainted opinion :)

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will have to spend some time browsing through these sights. So far I have only really looked at nano-reefs and it seems to be a good site.

Very well said. Marketing a site as a place where there are giveaways and free advertising is how you end up with a site like ChicagoReefs with 800+ registered members, ~200 signed in every 24 hours, and only 20 who post. Then you get 100+ at the free event with a free raffle.
