Sho Tank-Mundelein

ShoTank is great. Matt is one of the most helpful people in the business if you know what to ask. I also like that he doesn't try to sell you a lot of extra equipment and supplies if you don't need them. Instead of trying to sell me more expensive things, he would tell me that it wasn't really necessary for a tank my size. His prices are hard to beat too.
 
i went in there on tuesday and man his craftsmanship and the time he puts into his woodwork is amazing. I dont know how much it was but it looked worth every penny.
 
Just want to give a shout out to Matt at Sho Tank for drilling my tank (that I bought at another store) right there while I waited. No charge. I had to buy a bottle of Purigen just so I could give him some money! Really a great guy and a great store. So glad he is open on Sunday!
 
Sho Tank is awesome

What I appreciate is that Matt won't sell you something that is a bad idea for your tank. I've been cycling my new tank and I was thinking of picking up some macro-algae but Matt said if I put it in at this stage is would go asexual and make a mess.

He also took wonderful care of my fish while I was in the process of taking down my old tank and putting up my new one. He's just all around awesome!
 
Just another shout out to Sho Tank. He's really down to Earth and a good guy. Loves the hobby. He knows his stuff. Also his livestock and corals are top notch. Every fish I have bought from there has not had any issues.
 
Good seeing you all! We should do that more often, maybe next time with some brew! I did like the idea of swapping frag if we have them great idea!

Sho tank rocks. Matt is always nice and makes some beautifu stands and canopies. Always telling me if a fish is good idea to add or stay away. Always willing to give good advise. Its a drive for me but i still make it out there every so often

Sho Tank is my favorite place and the owner Matt always provides great advice and tips. He won’t give you bull or sell you anything that you don’t need. I buy 95% of my corals from Sho Tank and happy all the time. Sho Tank has a large coral and fish selection so it takes me an hour to make my final selection. If you never been to this store, stop in, your missing out on a great store if you don’t. Worth a visit just to see the 1200gallon reef display tank.
 
Been going to Matt since I got my 175g from him. That was back when Steve was still there. Every fish in my tank has come from Sho-Tank and all but two corals have come from him. Great stock and one of the few truly honest LFS I have seen. Not afraid to say "no" to someone and I greatly respect that.

Now...going there for three years and just hearing about beer now is a different story....my wife even made him cookies.

assuming I am available, count me in. I am right in Libertyville, so about 15 minutes away...unless you are meeting after work, when it might take an hour to get down 137 :(
 
Matt just posted on Facebook a crap load of sweet corals for sale, bunch of nice millis as well. I wish I could stop by, too busy this week
