Oh yea Matt has some awesome SPS colonies. I picked up a Lil beauty today, a nice GBTA. Then I proceeded to loot throught the used items area and found an Apex controller, a Milwakee PH controller and a good looking calcium reactor too. Then I had a smoke and some cruddy coffee from the farmers market. Not to shabby for a Friday afternoon. Oh I also found this......View attachment 5750
I know a couple of threads back there was a lot of talk of where to get some.

This shop has a nice collection of coral and other livestock. Also has a lot of used equipment and some new equipment.

No not yet thinking about it. I am currently doseing BRS two part, I was using ESV brand but it's kinda expensive and the tank just eats it up. Anywho I am kinda unhappy with BRS two part, I have not seen the results that I was expected from doseing it. For the amount that goes in to the tank and for how long I have been using it.

I'll have to agree with everyone. Matt is extremely helpful and i have been going to him for a few years now. Probably one of the best stores in chicago.
 
Matt as had some sweet fish lately. Picked up a regal angel and a blue throat trigger yesterday. I've always wanted a regal, this one was eating and very inquisitive. Can't wait to see them when the lights come in today, will try to take pics.
 
thanks Joe, he was eating freeze dried krill in the store, he's been there for at least 2 weeks+, should do well in my sps 180
 
Matt had a ton of clams if ppl were trying to look for some and he has some pretty sick anemones also.. And by the way bro great pick up on the fish saw those two Friday..awesome

nice ive had a few first two did great but as rookie i didnt be carefull added sick fish wiped out my system twice dam rookie lol. that was 10 years ago oh and i bought from living sea and the regal cost me 250 twice now thats stupi rookie lol
 
I'll put in another good word for Sho-Tank. Before Midwest Coral Farms opened and then closed, I was going there for frags and fish. I bought my Coral Beauty from there about 3 years ago and it's still a healthy fat fish. The store itself reminds me of an old LFS from the 70's that hasn't changed it's decor in 40 years. Don't let that put you off. I think his livestock is quality stuff and the dry goods aren't ridiculously overpriced.
 
I laugh at a lot of comments on this thread. First of all Matt has a custom shop!! Building custom stands and canopies!! Of course there is going to be a small mess with this. If that bothers you maybe you should sit at home and order your stuff online. As far as his business goes there is NOBODY that does it better than Matt. I have been a customer of his for almost 9 years and I have never been given bad advice or sold something that wasn't needed. His live stock is top notch and one of the best around the area. If your looking for great quality Fish and Corals and great advise you should buy from Matt. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand and tell you everything you want to hear then go find that and stop bashing a guy that has been in business as long has Matt has and been more successful than he has!!!! People that have time for bashing guys online maybe should spend more time trying to figure out there hobby than trying to smash someones business.
