Thoughts on Hanna Alkalinity Checker?

Thanks for sharing this guys. I bought one brand new just recently when BRS had them on doorbusters for 35 bucks -- and mine is bad too! (it seemed to work ok, but hey if they want to send me more that's fine)

I think they are recalling them all just to be safe so even if you have a good one it will show as bad and you will get replacement
 
I can't wait to check the batch number on the replacement batch they sent me.

You will know if your batch is bad. Your results will come in very low. You can almost tell be looking at the vile. It will be a very light green compared to what you're used to seeing.

lol no i was thinking if its values are wrong .. cause the three tests i used out of that bottle i did so to make sure my salifert test is correct lol ..
 
Ok so i got my replacement reagent

"Bad". 7.5 dkh
Replacement 7.4 dkh
Red sea pro 7.6 dkh

So i believe that they are just covering their asses and claim them all bad. The replacement one they sent me registered bad also. The replacement comes with passed sticker on the container.
 
I still use salifert but from what I have heard a lot of people love the hanna checker! I might get one myself just for the accuracy and easiness
 
Just checked two bottles of reagant. Both registered as "bad." Thanks for the heads up.

Anyone aware of any issues with the Cacium reagant? I have been trying to get my levels up and stable and now am not trusting any of my test results.

BRS still selling bad batches. The 2 bottles I just got in the mail today are both bad.

Those that have gotten their replacements, how long did it take? Contemplating Amazon Priming another bottle just to be safe although there's no guarantee the one I get from Amazon won't be bad either.

took me about a week to get the replacement
if you need one fast I can trade you a bad one for a good one, and I'll set up the replacement

thanks for offer :)

i already set up replacements for the 2...it's just that i'm almost all out with my one bottle which is why i bought 2 from BRS...i guess i can just try using the "bad" ones if i have to or bust out my old API kit
