Water Storage Containers

I use a 60 gallon poly tank (similar to the one you posted). Best container ive every used and worth every dollar. Ive used HDPE Brutes and these blow them away. Wiz.

I use 15 absopure 5 gallon water bottles from drinking fountains and 30 5 gallon buckets i bought from a food distribution company out of ind which have screw on ratchet lids. My main ro system is stored in four 55 gallon plastic barrels that are tied together with bulkheads and a spout on the last one.

Please post some pics.

I just bought two 65gal tanks from farm and fleet. I need to setup a water change station.

I picked these from farm and fleet thay are food grade and have fittings already installed, The top one is for SW and bottom rodi top off gravity feed on both.

Is there anything wrong with having RO water go directly into the sump and then be pumped into main tank?

Are you able to put a powerhead in your sw resevior to help mix it?

What about a heater? Is everyone heating their saltwater?

Yes you should use a top off container. Have you ever watched your tds meter when you first turned on your rodi? The first gallon or two is high tds but that isnt a problem, if your make a number of gallons of water. If you have your rodi hooked right to your sump your only turning it on and off with the the float valve and only adding a gallon or two at a time of high tds water. This is bumping your rodi and it will ruin your filters quicker and only give you high tds water to top off.

+1 to what Crooks said.

In what way?

I ran into issues with a brown "film" growing in my brutes and also a slight issue with phosphate. I have had no issues after going with the poly. JME but brutes are great containers especially for large water changes :)

Reef crystals?

Would you get 2 larger 250 gallon tanks or 3 smaller 175 gallon tanks?

I noticed that a lot of you are using brute garbage cans but I would need something much larger. A 10% water change would be about 65 gallons at a time. I plan on doing a 20% water change a month. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
