Zoa Poison Real?!?

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who replied and the concerns shown. I think I'm feeling better and wanting to stay away from the ol' Dr for now. (Just went through open heart 7 weeks ago [@ 31y/o mind you] and dont want to go back anytime soon). Which could be one of the reasons I'm having crazy weird symptoms. And why my immune system could be down and the little contact I had screwed me up pretty good...Lesson learned...DONT MESS WITH ZOAS WITHIN 7 WEEKS OF MAJOR SURGERY!

Anywho, just wanted to say thanks and I'll keep you posted...

BTW: The little bastard is already starting to open...he better make it for how I felt today regardless if it was from it or not!

I'm just seeing this now, sorry. Here is my story... took me a couple days to get over it, I got it by inhalation. There is nothing the hospital can do but monitor your breathing and heart rate so that you don't stop breathing or beating! The Drs around here will no nothing about it, and will probably not believer you. They will have to call a Dr in Florida for treatment advice.

Rest and feel better!

That's great that ur feeling better but with a past surgery like that u should go get it checked out if u feel bad again. Hope u feel better. And that y I got rid of my zoas. I work with steel so I always have small cuts on my hands.

I think I was along these same lines as you...except my tightness in my chest I accounted for with my surgery...and my fever I think broke at work...I had all the windows down in my truck at 7am and sweated through an undershirt and button up in the 10 mins it took me to get to work...dizzy, ears ringing, nausea...good times

I drank probably over a gallon of water throughout the day today...peanut butter and crackers for lunch and just tried to ignore it...Doing ok now so going to see how I feel in the morning!

Thanks for the hyperlink, think I might of read that and your story while I was researching it all today ;-)

I hope everything will turn out ok. But the fact that you just had a heart surgery really scares me. I don't think there is a precedence for what you are going through. I wish you would at least call your doctor.

There is nothing your doctor can do for the toxin directly. If symptoms are passing the toxin is leaving your system. Now if symptoms were getting worse or not better you need to go in for monitoring. It took weeks before the tightness in my chest passed. Since you did just have surgery a call or visit to your doctor would be wise since the toxin affects the heart to the greatest extent.

Good times??? OK, it's official, you're an idiot for not going to see your Dr after this!!! Typical guy... I'm so glad my husband isn't like that!

I guess I am the typical guy. A typical guy that knows his bodies limits, pushed his body past those limits being a firefighter and a medic in the Army. Knowing how the body acts being an instructor at the combat school of medicine. I must be an idiot as you say.
Your glad I am not like your husband.
I am also glad you are not like my wife, because my wife wouldn't call someone an idiot and pass judgement before knowing someone.

It is "good times" because I am still vertical while many of my brother's are horizontal.

So "officially" a moderator should change my username to idiot.

Just so you know, and Eric can vouch since we've been talking about me attempting to get a coral from him weds...
I read the signs and symptoms of this toxin. There is next to nothing a facility can do for me at this stage, and I WILL be in Chicago on Weds to see my cardiologist for stress tests and therapy.

I hope this isn't offensive to anyone besides the person who has caused offense to me. I teach my children to think before they speak, and if they don't have anything nice to say...that's two threads now Ms puffer, I bit my tongue in the first. You know how I feel on the second. If you cannot be polite you no longer have to comment on my threads.

Thank you

Scott,
Hope you are feeling better. I believe I also had a case of Palytoxin a few years ago by moving around some zoas with a cut on my hand. Made me feel like absolute crap for about 3 days. I still think they are beautiful but I decided not to take any chances in my current DT. I worry what would happen if some calamity happened to my tank and the palytoxin went airborn in my house without my knowledge. If anything happened to my dogs or GF from it I'd never forgive myself. So no zoas anymore for me.

How are you feeling today sir?

All right Mr Eric, now that I am feeling much better (thank you) I needed to tell you that my name is/was SERGEANT. My name isnt Sir, I worked for a living!! Enlisted personnel dont like to be called Sir because that is what you call the Officers that sit at desks and do paperwork for a living.

As I said...I worked for a living...plus I'm 31...My dad is Sir...Not this guy!!

I wanted to give it a day to give you a hard time so that I didnt come off as the butt head meany pants!

Thanks again for checkin back on me,
Hope to meet you one of these days to check out your establishment!
