1 system 2 displays

Man that sucks. Mayb it's a good time to reboot the whole system. If ur 30 is closed off from the rest of the system, mayb u can put ur fish in there while u clean and mayb bleach the rocks to kill off everything.. Clean out ur sand and dry out the sump and 93. That way u make sure u get rid of the aefw and u can get back to sps quicker if u want. The good thing is u have the 30g to keep ur fish. Then after the 93 is ready just do the same to the 30g

Good luck

The 30 is no longer closed off. Once all the sps was gone I opened it all back up and worked on getting the parameters in order. I've seen fw in the 30 yet. Only reason I haven't shut down and dried everything out for a reboot is because of all the sponges I've been growing on my rocks and all the pods I've finally got breeding like rabbits

Imo I would just reboot. Sponges and pods will eventually come back. I've never seen or put a sponge in my tank and now I have 3 yellow sponges growing on my rocks. Who knows where they came from. But it's up to you in the end. Just don't let it get you down. The tank will come around again.

I'm looking at getting a tang for the Gha and maybe a wrasse to control the fw

You can always increase Mg levels for gha too. I had some bad hair algae in my frag tank and raised my Mg levels and it died off. Most people claim that it has to be Tech-M but I used Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate)

What did you have to raise the level to? I may try it. I have the aquavitro stuff but have never had to use it. Did you notice any effects on coral or fish?

To be honest I never tested I just added about a half cup every other day for a week. I probably should have been testing but oh well. I think many people shoot for 1800 but don't quote me that's just from what I think I remember reading

Thanks I'll research it more to find out for sure. I'm at 1300 right now

I believe the tech m is used for bropsis not so much gha . I used tech m for bryopsis and worked great i didnt test either just dosed slow and waited for it to kick in . I can say it didnt do anything for gha though . So maybe the stuff u used works better for gha

Thanks Joe still have to do some research when I get up this afternoon

Got the kole tang yesterday. Hes tearing up this algae and even has my copperband pucking at it. Looks like these two are good friends. They won't leave each others side

Turbos have been doing an alright job on the crushed coral

The tang and snails have really been working on this algae. When I get time I'm going to pull all the long stuff out. My copperband has even been helping eat some of it. Finally got the copperband to aggressively eat mysis. I guess the tang showed him how to really eat. Now just have to wait for them to clean the crushed coral some more so I can dump about 25 lbs more in to make it a little deeper
