180 upgrade begins :) custom stand and setup build

I just bought a eshopps r100 for the 40 and a rio1700 got out the door for 200$ 40 should be running with the stock from the 93 that I plan on keeping by Saturday then the 180 comes upstairs for the startup/finishing process . Cody bring the 30 back I'll give you the sweetest deal on my 93 setup ever :-) pretty sure I'm going to start the 180 with all dead rock and seed it with a few choice pieces from the 93 that don't fit in the 40 since it started dry and I KNOW ITS PEST FREE ! I think with the time and $ I invested in the setup it's the right way to start it up. Plus I always wanted a tank in my room and this 40 is perfect

The jam packed 40 holding tank lol looks good everything cleared up today and settled all fish and corals look awesome for one dy after a move... Spent to much time cleaning the 93 stuff today to get it ready for sale so the 180 didn't get upstairs maybe tomorrow. Also another member Adam stopped by and we got my ro and water holding/mixing station started... Gotta choose a cheap pump external preferably to pumps fresh mixed water and or topoff water upstairs from holding to the tank any suggestions it's at least 12ft high and then a run across the floor and put I the tank

Here are the pics of the water setup so far... I have a 50 gallon rain barrel from menards it was nice because it had a 3/4" outlet already on the bottom I plumbed to and added a unuion ball valve I now need a pump and salt mix container... I'm thinking about using the rain barrel for salt mixing and buying a bigger white storage container but at 150$ plus shipping damn are they big $
Any thoughts or suggestions this first pic shows the rain barrel next to my hot water tank in a mechanical room downstairs

This pic shows how hight it must go... I'll run it next to the boiler lines into my walk in panty upstairs from there it will go through a valve to vinyl hose wherever I need to run it...

My new view from the sofa

Starting the water making tonight but already have 50 gallons in reserve :) hopefully sand scape and final install tomorrow gonna finish the plumbing right meow!

Well that's where it's at... I have 50 gallons more water made that I'm to lazy to add... Tomorrow I should have another 50 ready and be able to finish up. Really like how I painted the bottom white and installed a 24" strip light under the stand it's I nice to work down there all plumbing is glued tested bulkheads no leaks! Super stoked.. Rock work is way better I'm person honestly and the tonga area in the center was created for a purpose... It's going to be really cool to see the action in and out if it plus there's a hidden cave behind the branches.. Lots of coral placement plus I am going to fill the left side with seeded rock from my 90 in a day or two To really kick start things. Also I think I'm gonna ditch my apex unit I suck at programming it and I can get 450$ since it's the good one.. Flow is also excellent I have a koralia 1050 and it's making a mini whirlpool. The mp40's paired with return lines should make this bad boy flowwwww What do you guys think?!?

Mounts test fitted time for paint not bad looking either. I think I'll use 3/4 conduit if I did it again... I'm prolly going to make a 125/180/210 mount like the maxspect frame mount though here very shortly and it will utilize my water jet plates :)

Looking good man! Have you considered powder coating the radion brackets you made instead of painting them? A matte black finish would look sick.

Well she's up and everything a going and all the bugs are out so far... Time to build the doors and ro transfer station now... Herbie overflow is really quiet and the dc12000 is a really nice pump for the $ it's running the tank my reactors and I still have an extra port and two more steps on the pump power available should run everything easily... Also need to figure out a fuge light and throw the cheato and some cured live rock from my 93 in there to seed it well. Dr Tim's was added today and the mp40's are really moving some water. They are awesome! Need to tidy the wires and install the last two lights tomorrow then it's done plus I gotta figure out a reservoir for the smart ato I just picked up at aquatica

let the diatom outbreak begin..... anyone have any suggestions or just let it ride? was thinking of doing a water test again today and see it nitrite is under .1 if so i'm gonna get a few snails or something tank has had water and dr. tims in it for over 7 days now along with some rock from the 93 and some cheato should be almost through the cycle

I think it's best to let them run their coarse.

Just read the whole thread. Nice work! Want to come do my plumbing!? Nice and clean!

Nice GTR. I missed wannagofast this year because I was moving. Heard it was good, a buddy of mine went off the track in his evo.

I started my current tank last year with Dr Tim's and it worked great. I only had a SMALL diatom bloom.
