Update. Traded the par 38 for the par 30. I'm getting ready to order the Finnex nano canister for supplemental filtration. Also, I've been in contact with a company regarding a ceramic bonsai for the aquascape. This is shaping up to be a fun (re)build.
 
Finnex filtration installed and running smooth. It's so quiet I had to check several times to make sure it was running. Now all I need is the CeramEco rock and teh nuvo will be ready for action.

which filter did you get ?? i did the same thing with the nuvo 16, but added a AC30 hob and it runs every night. so as to polish the water.

My tank came with those as well and from the research I have done, most people ditch the ceramic and run purigen. That's just from what I read online a few months ago.

On another note, awesome build and great thread. I have to remove my media basket for my skimmer in the nanocube and I was going to add a reactor to replace it. A finnex might be a good idea too.

That's the best part about these forums. You get so many ideas from others.
