I have to admit that I’m jealous as you have a rimless tank :jaw: But it looks real SWEET!! What gave you the idea with the new chaeto stand? Never seen it this way..

I thought about the algae scrubber and micro bubble fixes and sort of wanted to combine the two. Plus I didn't want the emeralds and hermits in the fuge using the chaeto as a ladder to get into my intake and return chambers.

I wanted to make sure that the chaeto was stuffed in there tightly to trap any bubbles and to keep the pods safe also. There are 3 holes in the chaeto stand so the majority of the water pours into the fuge to enter the return chamber via that route. It's a tight fit because I didn't want to give it a chance to go around the sides of the stand. I wanted my water scrubbed clean.

I've gone over 2 weeks with no water changes and my ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, phosphates are all at zero. I think the system is doing it's job. I tested PH, Alk and calcium and they are all in line as well. The only chemical filtration I do is one bag of chemipure elite that has been in there for a month in teh bubble trap between the fuge and return. I don't use socks and I overskim.

I think my system is really happy...and that makes me happy.

I love that too, Adam. My tv now goes, unwatched and my neck gets quite an exercise. I think the only thing I need now is an acrylic skin for that stand. I don't like seeing that wood, and I don't want to paint it.
 
I picked up a new resident for my little ecosystem. I finally broke down and spent the big bucks for these guys. These are now the most expensive inhabitants of my tank. I have officially lost my mind. :crazy:
