DJE's 120XL SPS Dominated Tank

I was going back and forth between dosing and reactor for my upgrade but reactors seemed way to daunting! I'll be following this closely to see how it works out for you

I went back and forth too and it seems like it's pretty easy once set up. There are a few on here that say it's easier than most think so I'm hoping that is the case.

CA reactor is a great piece of equipment for SPS. I had a similar regulator and I personally had issues with consistency. I then purchased the aquarium plant regulator and its been on auto pilot since. This has been one of the biggest issue with reefers that have given up on a CA reactor, the regulator is the most critical component IMO. Tagging along can't wait to see the difference in coral after you set up.

Dang! I wish I had the balls to set up a Ca Reactor. Still using 2 part.

I've had it since July :) Tank is using up lots of 2 part now so need to figure out CALRx to make it easier.

That's coz you use Acropower. I was using 2.5x more alk/cal when I used Acropower.

With that set up you can put it out in the open as another show piece, I'm also running a reactor and I'm extremely happy with the leap I made , I was hesitant at first like everyone else but once you jump your committed. To comment on the regulator I'm running the reef fanatic and has not failed me yet.

Nothing new to update other than last week I almost had a heart attack. Woke up to find my tank very cloudy and my first thought was a nem went into my MP40. After finding both my nems in there spot and checking the filtration room and coming up with nothing, turns out my snails had an orgy. I actually caught the last 5 secs. They were all lined up at the top of the tank by the water line letting loose. This actually caused my skimmer to not produce any micro bubbles. This all lasted about two days. It was crazy and I'm glad I didn't die in the process. LOL

trochus snails? Thank goodness mine havn't done it in some time. They use to far too often. The babbies will show up in a couple weeks and a few weeks to a couple months afterwards they may start causing problems. The babbies can get into everything, including float switches.

They are all Turbo fluctuosa. Hopefully the filter sock will catch them all.
