I picked this porcelain crab up from the Aquarium Expo today! He's already loving one of my nems

Been fighting a winning battle with hair algae. I've been manually removing long strand and my turbos/urchins have been doing work on the shorter strands.

It's a Christmas miracle!!

I bought a Blue Star Leopard Wrasse from AQUAPROS at the beginning of October. The first couple weeks after introducing it I could see it buried under my sand bed from looking through my stand. After the first couple weeks I couldn't see it anymore and I just gave up hope.

Now this morning, after not seeing the fish for 2 months, it is out swimming around!

So today I thought I caught my urchin doing something weird. It was dropping what looked like eggs and a very fast rate. These things were falling right into the mouth of my sunburst nem and the nem was gobbling them up. Did some research and it turns out my urchin just took a giant dump into my nems mouth....we have a very very weird hobby.

That sucks . Just a pointer with leopards ive found best to isolate weather in sump or acclimation box for few days or week with either no sand or a container of sand this way they cant hide in sand and not eat . Get them eating and fat then add to tank this way if it stays under its all good when it finally appears

I don't know if I will try another one. They are too expensive and so finnicky. I moved to a new place in April and my old leopard was the only thing that didn't make it. I don't really want to waste more money and harm more fish lol

I picked up a frag of that same one too. I just know it was different, plus the wife picked it out and agreed i should have it.

So I have had an issue with hair algae lately. I did some big water changes recently and I haven't seen it spreading anymore. I have been keeping up on water changes, been using clean RODI water, and trying to suck up and detritus in my tank and sump. The algae still grows in the same couple spots but I am picking up a Lettuce Nudi tomorrow, hopefully that helps get rid of those spots that keep growing.

Anyone have any other tips for dealing with this?
