Frostys 40b

Very nice! I like the setup overall, can't wait til you start populating your choice colonies in there!

Well... My attempt a rigging up the leak was a complete flop. took 2 full sticks of JB water weld, and still was leaking. So this morning I went to menards and bought all the pieces needed to repair it. This afternoon, after my honey do list I was able to get to work.
I drained out half the water, and moved the system out, took out the leaking section, and replaced it with new parts. Now its been about an hour of running at full bore and seems to have been fixed. I am going to start adding in the salt in 30 min or so, just to be certain the leak is gone.

so this was my HORRIBLE attempt to fix the leak

However I took out that whole section and replaced it with new parts, and the tank has been running for 14 hours without a drip. So Leak is officially FIXED.

I added salt last night and accidently put in a bit too much, so I need to make fresh ro water today and change out a bit. But that works out because I can use some of what I take out for a wc on the bio-cube. And with out any further adu.... he it is running and cycling, less 1 of the lights (its still in use on the other tank)

Ok well. All is well in the land of the 40. Water is in, leak is fixed, and salinity is at a crisp 1.026. If it stays stable, Sunday I am adding the dr. Tims and my YWG. Until then, here is a nice moonlight shot for you viewing pleasure

Get that da*n fish outta mah QT! And his shrimp friend too!

I am a happy guy. I was forced to move over my coral a little prematurely, but it seems to have worked out well. I took a great deal of time and after a very LONG weekend of driving around for things, it is definitely worth it. I did use Dr. Tims to get a jump start on things and not 100% satisfied with the results, but everything has settled in and I am already and I am getting my first diatom bloom.

I keep moving things around to see where they are the happiest. I am sure this will be over a few weeks to get right. After everything is happy and in its permanent home and I see what I am left to work with, the last few things will be weeded out and I will be hunting for certain things to finish off the look I want.

Ok time for some pics

just hangin out in the new pad
