Thanks everyone for thinking about me and all the help i have received so far from friends all over in my life. May has been a rough month for me in and out of cancer centers, road trips,Just got out of hospital again wed night and i am back home again.I had to remove my 125 from my house and i just gave it to my son so he is it's new owner. I have my 180 setup and looking good and have the system about 90 percent automated for my wife so she can enjoy it and everyone we know enjoys it so much so when I'm gone she will get as much as i have out of it for enjoyment.
Again thanks everyone for thinking about me and all the help.

Rob, I live close to you so I will help as much as I can. I do suggest though, to keep it simple, that all chips are equal. $10 worth of chips is very little and that will keep tourney lasting just a few hours which is what we want. NO cash in or this can last all night. Once the $10 of chips is gone, you're out.

Or tourny starts at 8pm. No late comers since that wouldn't be fair. Tourney ends 12am, last hand delt by 1150.

You just bet chips; blind is one and two. Bet as many chips as you want. Chips don't have monetary value until end of night cash in. Nobody loses more than $10.

Frag buy ins though have to have the $10 in the bank for cash in though, don't forget that. They would have to be a decent frag worth $30. I've done frag trades and get slighted when they bring only a head or two for a $40 item of mine.

I don't have cards but I have chips and tables. Even if I can't make it, Rob and get or I drop off several cases of chips and three 8 foot tables. People will have to bring chairs.

I would love to have a tourney in my big back yard this summer too!

It is hard to set up a get together like this. It takes too long for people to respond in the forum.

If this doesn't kick off, I will host a back yard tourney. I will pick a day or two in August. It will have the same rules, a time limit, money will be donated, byob, bring munchies, bring chairs.

If you can make it great, if not, okay no worries. Donations will be accepted without a problem. Not a problem for me to host 3 people or 20. I have a big back yard for a Chicago home. I have a few non reefer friends that love Hold 'em tourneys.

You don't play or gamble? Come anyway for the party. Bring tank pics. Bring frags for raffle or sale. Got some used equipment? Bring it or pics of it for trade or sale if it's not too big. I have a little outdoor lighting so we can play until sunup if we stay quiet. It's just a party with a few friends playing cards with some proceeds going to charity. No worries.

It is really just a reefer party with a few fun things to keep it going.

A blind schedule makes sure everything goes fast and is the only way to do a tournament. Every 15 minutes the blinds go up. 1/2, 2/4, 3/6, 4/8 etc. You must raise by as much as the big blind. You can even accelerate the blind schedule as needed for speed. You can't play a tournament without it. IMHO anyway.

Yes they do, at the serious tournaments. Remember we want to keep this friendly and easy. We want to welcome people who aren't tourney savvy and don't want anyone to feel intimidated. This is probably going to just be a small amount of people.

Also, remember everyone only has $10 worth of chips. Even if all chips are $.25 that still isn't many chips. If you raise blinds, the day is over too fast. We want to have fun too. I don't know the lot of you and I don't want any cutthroat competition. Just some backyard fun.

So how are we looking fir this thing? Going to happen or is attendance too low

Chicago Reefs would very much like this event to take place. Unfortunately, I am just recoverying from a recent back surgery and will have another back surgery on Monday. Mike and Eic are traveling with their jobs. So if there is anyone in the membership who would like to take charge of this fundraiser, please let us know ASAP.

Thank You!

Lol I actually talked to mark at reef city who said he'd be glad to host a Cr event!!

We gotta make it happen reef city is a small store but still some kind of fundraiser has to be done :-) all those city people and from the north and west that haven't visited reef city have to get to it. :-) so lets get it going and not quit.
