Madjoes rebuild

Ok so apparently dosing peroxide lowers ph just found mine at 7. Kinda weird cause i was actually dosing kalkwasser to raise ph so who knows what would of happened if i wasnt dosing kalk now i can see why tanks can crash gonna stop dosing now giving up on peroxide honestly havent seen any signs of it actually doing any thing .

Dude try the high nitrates and dosing magnesium I'm telling you the mechanism behind why that works makes complete sense

Well that takes awhile i havent done water change and wont for while i guess and i was dosing mag this stuff kinda started when i started dosing mag so i stopped hopeing it was a high mag issue since it was pretty high idk i kinda giving up on this chit if it gets out of hand im just gonna shut down like i should of during first crash it honestly isnt worth it any more imo the comradery in reefing is gone most my good friends in the hobby got busy and we dont get to hang as much and its just a money pit every issue u just drop more and more money and nothing freakin helps . Honestly i have so much crap going on to defeat this crap im not sure how anything is alive at all

Joe i'll be your new good friend. We can hang out at my house and work on the tank together :)

its work but damn I love coming home and just stare at whats living in that damn tank. Everything from those tiny pods to coral with amazing colors and the fish. Every time I see the coral grow a bit more it makes scrubbing that glass worth it. And I've met some cool people through these boards. Its been great sharing our experiences. Hope you can find the parts about your tank that make you happy and makes the work you put in worth it!

Joe! I know you said I was probably battling the same issue you have been.. I did that Vibrant product plus a 3 day blackout plus "microscrubbing" and adding a sea hare. One of the above combinations took care of my issue.

I'd be happy to let you try some of this vibrant if you want to give it a try. Let me know.

I did just add a 3rd mp10 so thats 2 mp40s and three mp10s i cant say i dont have enough flow lol

Well if its not cyano or diatoms flow won't be the issue. If its Dino's. Then the dirty method will be what your going to have to go with.
I forget, I think Dan in huntley?? Had it and Dino's for a year went the dirty tank method to outcompete the Dino's.

As for the flow. I got 3 mp40. And I ripped the flesh of a birds nest and a maricultured colony in constant flow.
I've lowered it down but damn direct flow

Dirty tank method! Feed feed feed! It's the only way, I think u should be shooting for 20ppm and dosing mag to 2k. Should take about a week from what I read once u get those numbers but do it slow.

How new is your rock and what kind? (looking at your first page of thread)
Do you have macroalgae and if so what is happening with it?

Man u ever just look at your tank and say wtf am i stupid all the money we dump into this god dam hobby and for what a tank that just wont run right to save your fukin life. I started like 13yrs ago with a 75 gallon from coral reef sure i got fuked in arse on price all said and done i was about 1600$ into it without fish lol and a system that couldnt support coral but i was in . No forums to help no craigslist for cheap equipment sure they existed but i didnt know that. 1000$ of dead fish later i got the hang of it running for 12yrs without any issues eventually getting all new equipment after seeing mai's tank from a craigslist post and turning into a sps junkie for the last five yrs the tank was running. And the tank was moves 3 times still ran perfect lol. Then i get this idea of buying a house with the house cane the idea of a upgrade in tanks then came jayjerks 150gal tank man i was stoked new house new tank life was good . Or so i thought with lots of planning tank came together fast was running great considering was a new build then bam crash corals dieing left and right all test r spot on no dam testable reason for the crash til this day the causes r just theory. So i wanna quit but nooooooo all my "friends" say u cant quit its only one flippen crash bounce back no worries so like the dumbass i am i gather my pride and rebuild dumping who knows how much more $ into this money pit . With all new sand and all new branch rock a whole new rockscape that came out way nicer then first time rock wall. To 5 mp pumps a reactor like 4 reefkeepers lol never can have to many. Only to be aggravated by red flippen slime that wont go away . I know its cause i bought dry sand and not live what a idiot i am just to save like 30$ i spent 8x that trying to kill this shiet only to find out i give up red slime u win i quit if i dont take my shot gun to this thing id be surprised. If it wasnt winter time this pos be in the garage already . Then my wife the best wife ever tells me to upgrade to a 6ft tank because this tank is running like shit . Wtf at first i was like hells yea then i looked at my tank and said why why even bother . Sorry for the rant i was looking through photos and found my 75 gal a few times went through 3 different phases and not once did it look like shit . I wish i still had her looking at this pic and my tank now just fustrates me more

Look how white that dam sand is and that sand was 12yrs old

Maybe its your house.
The air or oxygen or something. I forgot if older or new houses and being shit tight with our clean air in the winter or blah blah blah..

Something or other

Do you run a ozone air purifier, I strongly believe that it affects my tank , I find running it drops my opr and ph . I have a whole house unit hooked up to my furnace and when I turn it on within a day or to depending on how much the furnace runs everything starts dropping. I have no strong proof it just observation.

Damn. We just talked about this last night. Wtf. It must have been eating at you ever since. Don't give up man. You know where you went wrong. Get that 6 foot, and make that mother***** badass!

I run a whole house ozone also...mine runs on allllll year.
Also run a UV in the aquarium and my orp is steady in the 200s and running kalk keeps my ph at 8.4 daytime 8.2 night time.

Ive stopped the night time light for the fuge and ats that kept the ph stable since i dont need an ats for 6fish out of the many i had also stopped phosguard reactor since again no need for it.
