Midwest Coral Farms shutting down.

I dnt thnk we should be bashing mcf.. I thnk we should respect the direction they are going to.. They are not disappearing just focusing on a different part of their business..

I dnt thnk they used us.. They provided great quality service, corals, fish, inverts, rocks, dry goods, and frozen foods.. And they always gave the best at a great price.. Just like any business they are going on to bigger and better things and maybe hopefully in the future they will reopen their retail side again....

Bry was saying that they were used, not that they were using us (I think that's what he was saying).
 
It just came out a little blunt and just felt a little insulting.. But if it wasnt meant that way i appologize..
 
I feel sick. I just wish there were more notice. I don't think I can make Thursday.

It is a weird way to finish off such a strong customer relationship that they have had in such a short time. I was a little bit disappointed, but what can you do. I hope they do good in the new direction they are going. It would be great if they opened their doors 1-2 times a month.
 
Well, goodbye I guess. And I guess a thank you is in order that I no longer have to spend 2+ hours in the car to visit MCF, lot of gas money being saved.

Still would have been nice to stay open for one last long weekend and close for good at the end of day Sunday, MANY of your loyal customers in the past simply cannot make it there on a thursday for the big blowout final hoorah sale.

I'm a little upset to see you turn your back on your direct customers closing the retail side of things, but hope to see the direction you are heading benefits everyone in the community. You guys were always so good at getting us great deals.

I never thought Id be able to quote Douglas Adams, but..... So long, and thanks for all the fish... ;-)
 
Wow! I just saw the email I got. I am really bummed out to say the least. MCF has been a weekly destination for me as I go up to Vernon Hills to see my Dad almost every Saturday. Then I am off to MCF. It is a destination that I have frequented to such a point that I think they know me there by name.

Every single person has been great there to deal with. Thank you Sarah, Reed, Blake....et al... I am sorry you are closing the doors... and I wish all of you the very best with your wholesale operation. You will be missed.

Trust me Nathan, Reed and I are in the same boat as you. We were blindsided and found out we will both be out of a job the same time all of you did.

Why am I not surprised? What a shame. Windy city reefs should just take over. Let's all chip in 10k! What do you say folks? Coral co-op anyone?
