It's like a tank filled with rainbows!!!
Wow Mike. Simply incredible! Honest to God, I'm kinda jealous I need to stop by and see this in person bud.
Hard to believe it looks even better in person, Trust me!
Have a golden pheasant ready for me mike, I'm coming down to reefwise this week to pick up #2 moorish.
Mike - Your tank is breath taking! I just read this thread cover to cover. Had some time today! It is a true testament to your planning and patience. Amazing!
WOW! Thats alot of BIG fish. What do you feed?
3 packages of Rod's on Monday, a pound of pellets on Tuesday,
The little kid from next door on Wed. etc.
Mike, you need more tangs.
What type of coral are you looking to add?
HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you ever post the livestock list? Its too hard for me to keep track of all the fish in there.
Awesome Mike!
Amazing! I love those unicorns!
Wow...just caught up with the last few months of posts. I remember looking at the pics of you cleanin out the tank sitting inside at the same time I was setting up my 120. Your tank looks super cool and I can't wait to see what it looks like with a bunch of coral in it. You should have an open house some weekend for CR's to bring their wife and kids by. It would be great to get my wife to say why cant we get a tank that big!!! Then I can get another tank!
Time for an update Mike, we want to see more.
2 nori sheets a day soaked with garlic, New life spectrum pellets 4 times a day on an auto feeder, prime reef flake and algae flake 8 times a day on an auto feeder, mysis shrimp every other day soaked in garlic.
I'm using the ehiem auto feeders. They have worked flawlessly. I change the batteries ever 6 months just in case.
So here is the update;
I was running the tank in hypo for approximately 10-12 weeks just to ensure that there was nothing that I didn't want in my system. I have been really busy with work and about 8 months ago I had some personal health problems which really slowed me down. Don't worry, I am all better now and back in the full swing of things.
The system has been brought back to 1.024 sg. over the last 3 months and I have been just maintaining the system as a whole.
I took a trip this weekend to New Fish in Milwaukee WI. and picked up 16 cases of salt. I have officially switched salts from Crystal Sea to Coralife.
I noticed that my Tonga branch is still leaching phosphates into my water and this has been confirmed twice by two totally independent tests.
I plan on running GFO in a mesh bag and putting it into one of my filter socks in the sump.
The Kaldnes has been running flawlessly and I have had nothing but great things to say about it, I’m glad that many of you are now looking into it.
The bad news… My skimmer the Xp5000 internal cone skimmer pump took a dump. The pictures of the impeller will show you what happened. And of course it comes with a 3 year warranty and of course mine takes a dump 3 years and 2 months into it. I purchased a new impeller hoping that pump was still ok… The pump is also shot as well…
I ordered a replacement impeller that came in this neat little container...
Anyway I have to order a new one this week.
I will have a couple of fish posted that I will be looking to re-home over the next couple of weeks... If anyone is interested please pm me.
Thanks!
