My "Tanked" Tank

tank is not in house yet, supports installed saturday. I'm using down time to decide which part of the world i will have in the tank. Caribbean has prettier fish but I thought half Aussie and half Solomon islands might be cool too.

yepper, that's a rog (er)...... My handyman is building me a new tank for the cost of the wood and I give him the steel tank for scrap. The floor is braced, the tank stand is being put together in my house as we speak. The tank will be in my house this week. This tank will be in my house this week!!!

I have about 90% decided to make this tank indo-Pacific as this area has the widest variety of fish and coral. I've slowed down on my posting due to the surgery had in my arm left me lots of pain and unable to do stuff. I bought Dragon dictate, the speech recognition software, at least now I can type better. More updates coming in I will post pictures later today.

I think it will be lots of fun to keep this a bio-type tank. Is that the right word? In addition to getting a new window out of it, the handyman had to pull down the awning in I told him to leave it off to the house looks better without it. As a matter of fact I had him take down all the awnings and he can keep those for scrap aluminum.

that tank was awesome when it was at corbins. they never seemed like they knew muchabout the size of that tank when i asked them about it. but anywho hopefully you get that badboy installed filled up and running soon. sounds like an awesome project.

the lady at corbins didn't seem to know a thing about it. her measurements were off, she told me it was 250 gallons but its 400, she didn't mention the stand is steel and weighs twice as much as the tank. No wonder she went out of business.
i have $2600 invested in it so far because she didn't know.

sounds about right the lady didnt know much they did have 2 very knowledgable staff members that could tell you anything you needed to know. the ladys husband mark probably knew everything about the tank though. im suprised he wasnt in control of selling that tank. good luck with eveyrthing i might be able to help with moving it and such if it comes down to recruiting CR members.

The 1st picture is of the withstand that the handyman built for me. 2nd picture is where it is going in my living room.

Must feel great seeing this project materialize more week to week. I am looking forward to seeing this in its final form. You just need to put together a dolphin show and you can charge admission to pay everything off!
